Right, well, as a lot of Assassin's Creed players know the ending is very odd. Without writing anything in this thread which spoils the ending, I'm going to post a link to an article which explains it in incredible detail.

This page is full of spoilers. You've been warned! [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=175552]

Basically, I was just wondering what people thought of the ending.

Basically a cryptic pile of crap.
Desmond should have escaped instead of hanging around waiting for more Animus experiments

Besides, the next game has revealed everything that's going to happen.

Agreed. Although, I would want to know the answers to all that too. And maybe he knew he probably would have been killed if he had tried to escape, or that he felt he had another purpose to fulfill or fuck i don't know!

I actually loved the ending, regardless if it was a cliff hanger, it really got me pumped for the next one. I mean so much mystery and intrigue what's not to love. People blame it on bad writing, simply because they don't like cliffhangers.

Exactly, if Desmond had explained to himself in the room he sees it all, then it would have been a better ending.

Oh yeah, that did kinda suck. Oh well, at least everything will be explained in the next one (I hope)

Doesn't it come out in November?

I doubt it, I heard it's gonna be a trilogy, third's hopefully set in 2012. Plus yeah, it comes out in November.

I didn't realise you had to press Y.

Until I did it was a very frustrating experience wondering whether or not the damn game had finished.

Fantastic. Really got me excited for the sequel. Of all the games out this fall, that's the only one I'm reserving.

The first one was set in 2012. If you hack into the doctor's computer or into whatsherface's computer, you can look at the date and it says September (I think) 21 2012. Plus if you look into a computer at the end, you can find an e-mail to the doctor planning a quote "Very Important" event on December 21 2012. All will become clear in time. Lol.

I'm positive about the September and the 2012 parts of the date, but not the 21.

Anyway, yeah I knew it was gonna be a trilogy.

Anyone who was on the original 1191ad forums should know a hell of a lot more about the cryptic messages at the end than anyone else. Remember the codebreaking thing with the nazca lines?

The story so far had got me rather hiped, so I was pissed when I thought it was an open ending. I hate open endings! It's the worst demon of lacy script writing!
Anyway, when I found out that there was an assasin's creed 2 coming, and that I would continue Desmond's story, I was hiped.
So when I found out it was gonna continue I thought the ending was brilliant! I really love the story because of that ending, and I can't wait to get my hands on AC2!

Quote wall imminent.

But yeah, I know, but in the city he was in. Possibly travelling the globe to recover the 'artifacts' that's what I meant by the setting. :D

Just checked the message sent to the doctor about that date. It says that they will "Launch a satellite that will permanently end the war."

Freaky D:

Oh, I thought you meant date when you said setting

I fucking LOVED it. I don't get why it garnered so much hate.

Then again, I love cliffhangers with a fiery passion. I don't know why. I just love the sense of mystery.

Ending was a big load of fail IMO,why does it have to be artifacts of god and crazy old man with cloning abilities :-((
Yeah I thought it went a little crazy in the last fight, though you've got to remember - even though it's mainly taking part in the past it's still predominantly a sci-fi story seeing as your living body is actually in the future.
I hope they go into more detail about the god artefact and reveal it to not be a divine instrument.

Also, this;

I thought that comic strip brilliantly represented what most players would have thought while playing the game.
