After the whole Blackface thing I read an article which said that Americans were saying that Australians are backwards and racist. At first I was outraged by the comment and the hypocrisy of it, calling an entire group of people backward and racist is itself backward and racist, but then I realised that it was probably a load of shite that the Australian media was writing to get us outraged.
Unfortunately stuff like that sells papers and gets ratings, be it here or anywhere else in the world. This is why I don't watch the news; it's more about selecting and telling the stories in such a way as to boost ratings.
As for this story, as long as no-one is hurt then I don't see a problem. In fact I think artificially nannying perceived minority groups can be detrimental in that it can breed resentment among the majority and possibly a feeling of segregation among the minority.

If someone finds offence in it, then so be it but honestly, if some people took a moment to laugh at things like this and most importantly themselves then the world would be a much more relaxed place to live in. I'm a damned Ranga and I get shit all the time. As long as the persons intentions are in good humour then I couldn't give a damn.
