I bought a Bioshock 2 shirt.
But there is nothing else in that avatar marketplace worth getting, and it's another reason for Microsoft to make more money.

I think it would be pretty cool if they threw in Awards for the games that are currently out. Some of the stuff is pretty cool. Now they don't have to release somthing new every now and then. Now people can just download what they want.

It will proably be bigger when Natal comes out and they allow our avatars into our games.

I want the Clone Trooper armour but I'm not spending 600 MS points for the whole thing. 300 is more than fair.

Its a nice idea but way~ over priced, i mean 80 points for a basic shirt? its just another way for Micro$oft to steal our shiney things D: *remembers the good ol days where map-packs and new stuff was free*

So that's what your avatar is. I always wondered what it was.

EDIT: On topic, I really don't give a damn about how my avatar looks. I'm not going to spend money on this.

RAWR, no, bad Microsoft, very bad, no biscuit, That's the wrong update, I still need the option to change locale on my account so I can actually pay for downloadable content!

Don't really care seeing as I don't use Xbox Live that much. But I mean, it's Microsoft. What do you expect. It's like saying do you think EA are draining people's money every year with a crappy sports game?

I find it completely mind boggling that people outright hate it. You don't NEED to buy anything, you don't NEED to even go on it. It's not like they're selling you a gun on an FPS that gives you an advantage, or DLC that expands a game. Don't want to buy a shiny new shirt or hat for your avatar? Then don't.

It's just for show.

You know, like gamerpictures, achievements and so on. Get over it.

Wait wait wait.. a company did something to make money? Holy fuck, yeah lets hate on that.. because they're forcing us to buy it right? And I mean, that's totally out of line for them to do. Think about it.. a company making money? What the fuck is their problem?
This.

I just know that I'm going to have a harder time hanging on to those 200 points I get when I buy an 800 point game. Like how I just bought MvC2 but I had 180 points after buying a shirt, then I had to pay $12.95 for 1000 points and $5.90 for 500 just for those other 20 points. I really hope I won't be tempted to waste my extra points on anything else....

Yeah. I think the monocle throws it off a bit.

Also, my avatar is perfectly good in his suit that I got for free. I'm not giving even MORE money to Microsoft, I give them enough already.

I don't see much use in paying for anything like that. I'll be the first to admit that avatars are pretty fun to mess around with, what with all the customizable bits and bobs. It's not something I'd be willing to pay for, though, simply because it has no practical use.

I'll say the same thing I said for Miis: Give me a game (a REAL game, thank you) that uses Avatars, and we'll talk about paying for content. Including the console's stored Miis as a playable character in Mario Kart Wii was a step in the right direction.

Um... that's the point of business...

Anyway, it would be better if there were a wider selection of games to buy from.
exactly, blizzard seems to understand this point very well charging people monthly for what is essentially a static service, and then additionally for expansions that should come automatically to the people paying their monthly fees.

Odd poll, and a bit of a repeat thread.

However, I think it's overpriced. I'd like it if you could spend your gamerscore on this kind of thing.

I full heartly agreed, and maybe more peices of clothing would be available if you do X amount of achievements from a game, for achivement X, etc.

Thats a good idea. Like, if you get Bioshock achievements, you get the big daddy stuff?
