Building my house? No problem! With a single motion, the ground is cleared and leveled. With a few more, the frame is set. And so on and so forth.

This. What's with everybody saying that fire would be best in a fight? Sure, I can see the logic, but how many fights do you get in on a regular basis? Earth, from what I can see, has the most utility of the four. Plus I love the bending style.

Earth because it can block all elements unless one were to make a slicing thinger.Plus I don't do a goofy dance when I bend.

All bending is based on real martial arts, so you would be doing kata's just like the rest of them XD


OT: It is so hard for me to pick. Air is cool because well...it is. Water can heal and has blood bending. Earth has metal bending. Fire is the only element that can be summoned from within the body and has lightning bending.


Errr I am just going to go with Fire since it is based on Kung Fu and I used to practice that...although it is basically tied with Earth for me.

Personally I've settled on air, it would be awesome to be able to fly around and there are so many uses I can think of. What would you have if you could?

I would go for Air with most of the reasons you have but also for the reason that it is the most OP element when you finally master it since you could theoretically suck the air out of an area and suffocate someone to death.
The reason I think they made the Air benders peaceful nomads was so that no one would do what I just described. I mean they touched on bending the blood of someone in an episode so why the hell not have some Air bender go on a rampage and kill a bunch of people?

Could be a flashback. I mean they could have an evil airbending war like they did for the Fire benders.

honestly.. where would they have put it? why would the dedicate an episode to showing that airbenders are evil? how woudl they figure tihs out? they discover a moldy old scroll and they read it the cartoons showing said evil airbenders? from what the cartoon tells is it's all nice old men ruling the various airbending towers and with Aang beign the oldest person... ever he's still a kid tell me when did you learn the gritty details of WW2? not til you were at least 14-16 my guess Aang is what 12-13? or atleast really childish... and a monk which is a whole new page of worms in my opinion?

I'd go earth because out of all the powers it has the most potential.
It can bend metal, rock and is able to shape the environment around them. you could easily grow crops, travel quickly and well those stone projectile-glove thingies were so AWESOME!

Remember how they found Monk Guiatso surrounded by the corpses of about 10 meteor-charged Firebenders? 1 fan theory I read is the reason they are all monks and learn from an early age to respect all life is to avoid this. Remember, but because they didn't use Airbending for evil, screwed up purposes didn't mean they coudln't. Also remember Aang was 10. Even if they did know how, they probably wouldn't teach a 10yr old how to suck the air out of someones lungs.

OT: Definitely Earth (Toph Style). Calm, measured and very versatile. Plus, Metal bending!

It depends:
If you mean in real life, I would want Airbending, as it would be the most practical.

However, if I was a character in the show, I would want Firebending, because I love that style of fighting. It was cool and fun to watch, so I would want to learn that.
