Poll: AvP Facehuggers?

Ok, I was a major fan of the origional AvP on the PC and AvP2. My friends and I used to have massive LAN parties on it and found it one of the most fun games to play, we still play it now when we get the chance.

I recently played the new game and found it kinda fun, I especially like some of the additions of inta-kills. But theyve taken out one of the best things: Starting as a facehugger and becoming the alien relative to the enemy you facehug. Does anyone else miss that or was that considered an unimportant part of the game? Also all the human and Predator avatars start with the same origional weapons whilst in AvP2 they had weapons relative to the avatar you choose. Without that AvP is just a normal online shooter with 3 different Avatars compared to the normal 1. But I miss the major choice of trying to pick the perfect one for the match your about to play

Also if anyone had the expansion for AvP2 then getting into the mech or becoming the alien queen were the most awsome things dont you thing.

Does anyone feel this new edition beats the origional or is inferior?

I have AVP 2 for the pc and it was pretty cool to play as a facehugger. kinda chilling how easily we all were able to just hop up on that guy and doom him to a painful death one loading screen later.

OT: I didn't really like either of the games, to be honest. Neither of them particularly appealed to me.

I miss the old Facehugger phase. Because it was the one unit that could guarantee an instakill, and at the same time it was the weakest unit in the game.

Choosing whom and where to facehug, and if you had enough skill to facehug the a Predator, could set you up well into the game. It brought a new level of tension, those moments as a chestburster when you were practically defenceless...

It was... tactical. It required skill and finesse, and a bit of luck, to pull off consistently against good players and not be instantly gibbed.

Now... everyone can just stalk for those instant-kills. Everyone is on equal footing right at the start. Not even the Marine flashligh has a limited battery any more... The AvP core is still there, but watered down. And I miss my unwatered AvP.

It's a shame that the new Aliens vs. Predator doesn't have some of those aforementioned features; being able to play as the Queen - for example - would have been so awesome.

The new game is more streamlined, IMO.
