So i'm playing resident evil 6 (this isn't a bash thread) and i've come to a very interesting conclusion...

I like bad video games.

Deadly Premonition and Resident Evil 6 are perfect examples of my issue. They both play horribly but i've completed Deadly Premonition 100% (all achievements). Even though this issues exist I cannot put them down. The difficulty to the annoyances bring me back to a day when games were unforgiving which is what is missing in todays games.

Anyone else with me? Or am I just weird?

(Yes I know i'm just giving developers money for making bad games but I do not care)

Oddly enough, I know what you mean. I'm playing Dead Rising for the first time, and by any sensible standards it's a terrible game: the controls are clunky and unintuitive, the mission criteria are unforgiving, the bosses are overpowered and require trial-and-error rather than quick thinking, the cut-scenes are cheesy and the voice-acting wooden.

And yet, I'm enjoying it.

Deadly Premonition is a great example but my vote would have to go to the Space Channel 5 games. If you never played them, they're basically DDR with a controller and instead of the scrolling arrows you just mirror the moves another character did. I shouldn't like it but I do, I love it in fact. The feel of it is great and the soundtrack is boopin', as it should be in a proper rhythm game.

I do have this thing where I will like a game more if it "feels like a mod." Now, I haven't played a ton of mods, but this is something I've said in feeble attempts to explain this quirk of mine. One major reason I like Iron Grip: Warlord (let's see... 59 metacritic, 45 low, I guess it might be considered not great) is how rough it feels. Maybe it's because a game being rough makes it feel more genuine or something... Its mechanics feel less obfuscated and you feel more in tune with the game? I can't explain it, rougher games have a certain charm to me.

I don't know about "bad" games, but I like games that "feel like a mod," whatever that means.
