Poll: Batman Vs. Iron Man

So after seeing the new Iron Man movie, and with the Dark Knight not too far behind us, my friends and I got into a discussion. Who would win in a fight, Batman or Iron Man. I am siding with Iron Man, mainly because of the super suit. However, if you cut it right down, they are almost the same person, Batman just needs to upgrade his suit. So I now turn to you Escapist goers, who would win?

on a side note, this is my first thread, and could not find anything relating to this. So to the MODS/people who care. If this is somehow breaking the rules, please take action.

Lamers will say batman just needs an E.M.P. thingy to beat iron man. I say, iron man has all he needs to beat batman right now. Batbro cant go toe to toe with iron man, and at range, iron man is faster and has longer reach with weapons, and better accuracy, i dont care how good he throws batarangs. Besides that, iron man doesnt have many weaknesses, while batmans squishiness gives him thousands. As for 'using his strengths against him' or 'finding a weakness', look how long iron mans last opponents lasted. Batmans been fighting joker for decades. He wont have time for that stuff.

Batman doesn't get to upgrade his suit. It wouldn't be Batman vs Iron Man if he did.

Depends which version of Batman we're talking about really. I mean, the latest ones haven't displayed his bat-flyer-thing as far as I know. That's probably quite important since Iron Man can fly and all.

As a rule in any fight with batman always loses in the first round. Then in the second and third round Batman comes back and beats the hell out of the opponent which in this case if Iron Man.

Batman is much more stealthy and he'd need to use his wits to defeat Iron Man.

However, as most of us know, Iron Man is the smarter of those two. And much, much more durable.
With that, Iron Man would be the victor.

Tough question. Iron Man can fly and shoot energy, Batman has the deus ex machina belt. I get the feeling Batman would figure something out, though; he'd win in the end.

Oh yeah that does bring up a point about the batjet thingy. Yeah if he uses a batjet or batmech it'd be a more even fight. He actually had a robot suit he used when fighting superman (after the kryptonite failed) and it took a minute for supes to smash the suit to pieces, but robin was helping him (with a jetpack. that shoots missiles.) But he's alot less mobile than iron man would be in it. I've seen this debate on youtube alot.. Batman fans firmly believe he can beat anyone or anything by outsmarting it or whatever (like Redmage from 8bit theatre!) Anyways, im sure someone has shematics of iron mans suit and knows if its resistant to EMP attacks. Other than that, batman has almost nothing lethal on him, if he disabled the suit he still couldnt do alot too it. Maybe slap some batbombs on it, but the suits taken alot worse than that.

Depends if Tony has been drinking. Batman always has some Deus ex machina bullshit that wins anyway. Batman beats Superman at age 55. So not too hard to beat Ironman.

Do you mean movie ironman versus movie batman?... Eh still close call, cause the ironman fights in the movie were fucking terrible, only one i've liked so far is war machine vs iron man
