Micheal Keaton.

He's got the eyes, he's got the voice, he's got the screen presence to make the flat-ass character of Bruce Wayne an interesting person.

As far as I'm concerned Diniverse and Arkham City Batman are one and the same. But Dini's is my favorite none the less.

I know I'll probably get shit for this... but I'm gonna go with either Keaton or the Animated Series.

The latter being my personal favourite Batman anything. Keaton wins for me just because he's got a good presence about him to make Bruce Wayne and Batman interesting. What I liked best was that you'd never expect him to be Batman and that's what Bruce Wayne was. You're not supposed to know he's Batman and Keaton is very unassuming, so it worked best for me. Plus, he had the best on screen Batman voice ever.
Sorry, Bale. Your growly impression of a Grizzly Bear is fine but Keaton wins on that... but Kevin Conroy did a great job with it too >.>

I prefer the Diniverse bat, but for Arkham City, I'm prolly either gonna go TDK, or Batman Beyond, because I feel like those two suits would be more suited to the vibe of the game. #grittyrealismftwz!!

Batman: The Animated Series, whose makers went on to produce none other than Big O.

Christian Bale, mostly because nobody in the Dark Knight actually had superpowers, but it looks like that's been thrown out of the window in time for the new film.

I have to say the Arkham Asylum and City games, he's as Batman should be, clever, resourceful and able to fight fluidly.

However I still think The Joker was best portrayed in the Graphic Novels, specifically A Serious House where he was fuckin deranged.

I don't remember Batman being called Diniverse, but I'll go with the The Animated Series version. Loved it.

TAS/Dark Age/Arkham Asylum

All pretty much the same Batman, and it works for me. Although I also quite like Dick Grayson as Batman. Shame they seem to be ret-conning him back to Nightwing in the relaunch...

I loved the Arkham Asylum Batman, but the Balebat had a lot more depth. Seriously, he was great.

I don't read too many comics, so I'm not the best person to ask.

Can I say Grant Morrison's Batman? Some how reconciling golden and silver age stuff with the current modern Batman, introducing his son, making Dick Batman and then setting up Batman Inc.

I like Michael Keaton's Batman. There I admitted it. Truth is, I'm not a big Batman aficionado. Hell, I don't know much about DC/Marvel/any kind of super hero comic at all.

Keaton is what I grew up with and so Keaton is my comfort zone Batman. Well, him and Adam West. So when Batman is mentioned, I hear Keaton's voice and see his costume. And I remember Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. She was awesome.

I agree. The Nolan Batman movies are great despite Christian Bale, I think. I just liked the way Michael Keaton played the role. Plus, I think Tim Burton's style blends beautifully with Batman. Especially in Batman Returns.

And the Batman cartoon in the 90s (along with Spider-Man: The Animated Series and X-Men) was a treat for me as a kid. I know it introduced Harley Quinn. Didn't it also introduce Clayface? I mean...come on! How do you compete with that?

No, I think Clayface was a comic villain though I could be mistaken >.>
But yeah, I agree. I think Burton had probably the best vision for Batman with Batman Returns being my favourite. Nolan's is great and even though it strives to be more realistic, I think it does the comics justice. However, Burton's has a certain charm about it, I thought. Something about it was just a little bit more entertaining. Maybe even in the end but still, very good films nonetheless.

But the Animated Series is pretty much undefeated to me. I can still watch that series today and find it just as enjoyable as it was when I was 5 >.<
And I like seeing someone mention the Spider Man animated series as well. That was quite good too :3

You're right. I wasn't sure about the Clayface bit, as it was something I heard someone say in passing recently. I just looked it up, and Clayface had been around for a long time. But The Animated Series reinvented the character, and the lead comic writers liked that directed better and went with it.

And a public service announcement: Spider-Man: The Animated Series is now in the Netflix streaming library. And it has helped make my down time (bum knee, stupid flimsy ACL) a little better.

Oh yeah, I thought that's what it was. But yeah, BTAS version of Clayface was the best, easily.

And... yeah, that was already in my Netflix que and I've been watching it for a while now. I forgot how wonderful that show is... I even still have the tapes I made recording it >.<
