Ah yes the beat em up. In this day and age it seems to be a somewhat overlooked genre in the midst of all these FPS games, and WRPGs and such. I would just like to know what beat em ups you escapees like to play in these modern times. I would also like to know what ones you enjoy playing online especially.

I thought they were fighting games, Battletoads and Streets of rage were beat em ups.

I always thought "Beat E'm Ups" were the ones where you go from left to right and kick the shit out of a bunch of enemies on the way. You know like the old Ninja Turtles games or Final Fight.

I would say the one I played the most was Turtles in Time for the SNES.

soul caliber 2, super smash brother's melee/brawl, and fighters destiny.

yeah, i haven't advanced much. brawl is only when i go to a friends house, and fighters destiny is on the nintendo 64.

haven't played them in a while actually, those are just the most recent.

Given titles I am thinking you are referring more to fighting titles.

If so, for me it is BlazBlue on PS3 with friends, most played fighting game since Street Fight II on SNES.

Apart from the small roster I liked Burst Limit. It felt more balanced as a game should be, whereas Tenkaichi felt more like a fan service. Just my opinion though.

seriously I think the only bad characters are spopovich, nappa, and rekuum

slow characters without juggernaut frames are bad
