If your fat, its your fault.

Its simple.
Eating = Calories.
Exercising = Burning Calories.
Not Exercising = Not burning Calories.
Not burning Calories = Weight gain.
Notice what's not on the list:

any of those=how we must necessarily treat fat people

If you're fat, it's your fault. If you get treated badly by other people because you're fat, it's their fault.

Out of all the things we can judge other humans on, the fact that they don't exercise enough and eat too much food seems right in between "being a dick on an internet message board" and "not holding the door for people."
If your fat, I could care less. Be fat.
But if your fat, and you complain about being fat, but do nothing to change it, I dont want to hear it. And I'm sick of hearing it.

When I was a child, I was stick thin, then I hit purberty and expanded like a ballon. I was a 15 year old at 5ft3 who weighed 75 kg.

However, once puberty finished, I lost all the weight and now I am thin again.

I really hated being fat, even now that I am thin I still feel like I am inside a fat person`s body because I went so thin in a short period of time. It was all just hormones that made me chubby.

With having been fat myself, I try to look beyond the people I meet. As a girl who grew up fat, noone ever gave me that chance.

There is chubby, what is wrong with that? Who is to say that thin is the best body size?. Is size 0 healthier than a size 14?

There is just chubby, I am fine with that, but when your size, fat or thin, affects your health, I think it is time to change your lifestyle.

I like chubby guys though, I think chubby guys are cute

if you are happy with being fat great for you but dont get upset when women dont like you as much as skinny guys

thats my stance but if you are genetically predispositioned to be fat then its not nessecarily your fault
Weirdly enough, I'm not even worried about women; I figure if we're into each other, we'll be willing to look past some surface flaws. It's everyone else that pisses me off! lmao
Just remember: there's a difference between being willing to look past surface flaws, and being unable to find someone attractive because of their flaws. Attraction is in part a very 'surface' thing.
Which is why I used the qualifier "some." :p

I wouldn't expect much sympathy for your level of mental discomfort after you just characterized depression as "being lazy."
For the safety and comfort of others, please refrain from feeding the trolls. :p

Seriously though, guys like this love to sit on their little pedestals and judge other people, but the first time someone tries to judge them, they're the first to cry foul. Best to just let him say his piece and ignore it at your leisure.

I work in a restaurant in Canada (We're north of USA). I see a lot of fat people, sometimes they can't even fit into the booths that we have. I try not to judge, I need their money to survive. But when one of my coworkers pointed it out, I remembered a comedian (not his name, just his joke): "When I finally kick the bucket, I don't wanna be 98, jogging a mile every morning and eating only healthy shit! I wanna be 62, horribly obese, with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and burger in the other, having the time of my life!"

(the comedian was also a fat guy, and very funny)

Well, I'm 16. I have many strong and sometimes distorted views on life. I... don't mind fat people. My friend's dad is massively tall and overweight, and he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I don't even notice he's fat.

On the other end of the scale, however, there is this one guy at my highschool. He is HUGE. Over 140 kilos I reckon, and at 16. It's quite sad. I would feel sorry for him if he wasnt the most annoying person I've ever met. He makes sexual jokes and references every twenty seconds, he can't talk properly, he is also extremely loud so when he's in the corridor you can just hear this cacophany of "HURGHUR AFFDHYOAD LYUAGNH!!!". And he will not take a hint.
It drives me insane.

Unfortunately, almost all the fat younger people I know are complete idiots like this.
Some of them are even arrogant. They judge me for how I dress or act.

Now, I myself am a beanpole. 6' 3'', and extremely skinny. I used to be very slightly overweight, and I hated it. And you know what? I lost that through depression. Yep.

For the past three years I've been living in constant nausea and sadness. I ate about one meal a day for over six months, and then only to stop me from dying. I lost over 15 kilos in under a year. So depression can work the other way, huh?

Well, I'm quite content now. I'm still sick but I have a good home, good parents, awesome friends, and a bunch of cute girls hitting on me... What more could a guy want...

Hmmm I'm off track.

So, to go back to my first point, I don't care if you're fat. As long as they you piss me or other people off, kay?? Just like any other human being.
HOWEVER.

Do something to help yourself. Fat people don't seem to make it far in personal or public life. And they die at a younger age. And when I have to pay tax, I don't want half of it going to the Anti-Fat-ass Foundation Appeal.

I´m fat and it hardly bothers me.But i think the reason for that is the fact that i have never been made fun because of me overweight. And the fact that everyone in school know i can kick they're ass.

Its fitness not fatness that counts really, an overweight person who exercises frequently is at less risk of problems than a thin person who has a passive life style. The unfortunate thing is many overweight people do not exercise and that's a major factor in their weight in the first place (but not everyone).

To the TC: it's funny how you start a debate about obesity by admitting that your weight problem is your own fault and then play the victim while demanding no one makes any snap judgments about you. Well, from your own words and behavior, you sound like a big fat whiner to me.

I don't care about fat people any more than I care about any other random losers I meet. What I do care about is loudmouth attention seekers who have pity-parties in their own honor and demand to be "treated like normal." Being fat isn't normal, and if it was it shouldn't be. Everyone's got problems, why should we care more about yours than our own? No one targeted you specifically, you stood up and made it an issue.

Eh, you're overreacting a little.

Not because you're wrong, there are people out there that judge others in a millisecond based on looks, and they are in fact, total jerkwads.

However, they're a minority. It may not seem like it sometimes, but that's just because they're a relatively loud minority. Most people these days aren't that jerky.

Disclaimer: this is all based on my personal experiences, but I live in California, where body image is famous for being practically holy, so I figure it's still pretty reliable data.

I myself used to be somewhat chubby when I was a child. If someone is overweight, it's not the end of the world. If you wish to lose a bit, then go ahead, if not be happy and optimistic as you usually would. Now when I say overweight, I mean from chubbiness and onwards. If your extremly overweight and have health problems that will require immediate attention.

First of all, I am on the other side of this. I am very skinny, but I can't seem to do much about it. I eat normally, and feel totally fine. But my genes are probably to blame, as most of my family on my mother side are skinny. It's just who I am. And I have been bullied about that. So I know how it is to be bullied because of weight.

That being said, what I don't understand are fat people who complain, but then do jack shit about it. There is always something you can do. Sometimes it can be very hard, but there is always a way. And if not... then at least try your best. The only one who can make you happy is yourself, so do whatever you can do achieve that. If you are perfectly happy with being overweight and have no problem with that, then forget about other people. They are probably unhappy about something in their own life, and so they take a swing at you to make themselves feel better.

I myself am not fat, if anything i'm slightly under-weight. I don't see a problem with overweight people but its people who are REALLY overweight, the kind of people that are a 38-42 inch waist and sit in Mc Donalds eating a large size meal. I just do not understand how people can let themselves get like that. I have no sympathy for them as I used to be overweight in my younger years and have managed to slim down a lot with a decent diet and exercise. I now sit at a nice 30 inch waist and weigh 10 and a half stone.

I'm fat because I ate a lot up until I was 14 and sat on my butt watching anime. Now I run daily, am very strong and flexible, and even know martial arts. I eat right and everything. But I cannot lose weight. I lose 1-2 pounds every couple months and gain it back for no reason whatsoever. Unlike my fiancee who never exercises and lives off of pasta and junk food and is getting skinnier by the month...

I'm pretty damn big, but I really don't give a flying fuck what another person thinks about me whatsoever. If you don't like me because I'm fat, you can go ahead and fuck off. I never complain about my weight at all. I'm happy being the way I am and I'll be damned if I'm going to let some judgmental idiot try to bring me down.

I would rather be big as hell and happy than skinny as a stick and sad.

No, they don't really bother me. It's their choice really and I feel sorry for the extremely obese. That's not to say I won't discriminate when it comes to finding a date but I'm not going to refuse to be friends with you just because you're overweight.

I've never had a weight problem but if I do I'm going to stop eating so damn much.
