Eh... if you count games like Warhammer 40,000, which are tabletop and video games, then the Adeptus Custodes main weapons, the Guardian Spears.
Halberd power-weapons with under-slung bolters.
Good for both close-range and longer-range combat.
Of course, for full-on close range, the Power Fist wins.

One of my favorite weapons is the Sol Blade from Golden Sun.
It can smash meteors from outer space towards the enemy!

Magic swords. I think that's how lightsabers were born.
I love Sephiroth's Masamune and his attacks are even better. PC-usable blades would be those from Oblivion that you can make yourself (like one that blows up on impact) or some in DMC. I am very much a fan of Vergil's Yamato.

that was a hard choice. On one side we have the lightsabers, chainswords and punching blades... but then on the other there are the railguns, guass rifles, plasmacutters and guided mini rockets. Ultimately I guess I prefer the ranged weapons, besides there isn't a rule saying you can't fight with your rifle as a melee.
