Epic cover.

I dont really know maiden, so i guess i should start with this album :p
Yeah I love the Blade Runner vibe to it! The album isn't representative of the band as a whole though... you might be better starting with 'Number of the Beast' or 'Brave New World'

It's tough between Powerslave and Number of the Beast. I'm going to give the edge to Powerslave here, but in all likelihood I'll vote the other way the next time this thread shows up.

"The Trooper" is my favorite Maiden song by a fairly significant margin - the riff is absolutely brilliant - but the rest of Piece of Mind is really nothing special by their standards.
I think 'Where Eagles Dare' is one of thier best, other than that I agree.

I voted Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, but in hindsight I should have picked Powerslave.

I had the awesome opportunity of buying all of these albums(I think) last year. I was always a Maiden fan, but never had any of their albums. Then one glorious day I find a sale in my local video store. 2 cds for 12 euro. I dropped 72 euro on the spot. They were all Maiden albums. Ia m only missing a few I think, Iron Maiden, Virtual 9, Rock in Rio and one or too others, mostly live albums I think. The awesome thing is, all the ones I have(except the newer ones like A Matter or Life and Death) all have the picture of Eddie on the spines on the cds, so I nearly completed it in one day, that was awesome.

Very Difficult to choose. Pretty torn between Powerslave, Somewhere In Time, SSoaSS, and Brave New World.

Chose the SiT/SSoaSS poll option, because then I get to vote for two of the 4 at once.

It's Virtual XI, or Virtual 11, and it's the 11th album, similar to how The X Factor is their tenth.

Also, I highly recommend you track down their self-titled. It's amazing. (As is everything else they've ever done)

Favorite is Number of the Beast, but a very close second is given to A matter of Life and Death.
Going to see them in July, and I'm PUMPED!

Im more inclined to get the albums where a band does something diffrent, ussually ends up being my favorite. ^.^
Well in that case, Somewhere In Time is the album for you!

Tough choice, but overall I'd go with Powerslave.

Arrgh!--You're making me choose between Piece of Mind, Powerslave and Seventh Son!

I find it harder to like the post-Fear of the Dark material, because I'm a big fan of Steve Harris' bass-playing and thanks to the Loudness War I can't hear him anymore!

I voted for Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, there isn't a single weak track or filler on here, even the least known songs (Only the Good Die Young, The Prophecy) kick major ass!! I also like the fact that it's a concept album and has a major theme running through its lyrics. I'm into a lot of Iron Maiden's more proggy, experimental work, and I think that this album is the best out of all those kinds of albums. The story is so creative and every song on this album rocks!! Also, the album cover shows my favorite version of Eddie that Derek Riggs has ever drawn, with him floating above a psychedelic, dreamy lake with his head on fire, holding the womb containing the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son!!!

Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son are my favorites, so I voted for those. Pretty convenient that they were the same option in the poll too.

My personal favourite is Powerslave, and I have no idea which is the best, objectively. Really liked the Number of the Beast too. That was my first Iron Maiden album. It's the album with most of the songs I love best, but I guess overall I prefer Powerslave.

I don't appreciate that Iron Maiden and Killers are in the same block; the first is (in my opinion) Iron Maiden's finest, the second one of their worst.

Gotta go with 7th Son. It's got my favorite songs, and it's the one that got me into them in the first place. Second favorite is Fear of the Dark.

Dance of Death is my favorite. I just love every song on it to death, while with every other CD there's always 1-2 songs that I just can't get behind.
