Hey, i like totally wanted to know what everyone thought about Koei games. i know that DW6 totally pissed people off with the character re-designs. i personally liked the new Lu Bu his clothes and weapon look soo much better but it doesn't really replace his insane reach. My personal favourite transformation is Gan Ning those twin daggers = bad ass.

i made sure i added in the old favourites Kessen 3 and DW3 for any old timers out there haha. My personal favourite is SW2 just because of Keiji and Musashi and how much i enjoy killing Tadakatsu just because i hate him, he is probably one of the worst Koei designs, i prefered him in SW1: XL just because he was hell skinny! Now hes all "BIG MAN, SPEAK LITTLE WORDS, KILL PUNY HUMANS!" which annoys me because Keiji is so much more fun to play as and still pwn ass!

i put up WO2 just incase you guys want some variety and would like some demon snake blue thing to be involved in your voting haha

enjoy =D

Edit: i added bladestorm just because the amount of people saying they liked seem like a good enough reason to put it up so yeh haha

Edit: but the silly pole thing wont let me add another tick a box :(

DW6 here. I LOVE the new character designs, and the sheer amount of legwork they put into making each story mode actually worth more than three or four shared cutscenes.

I liked Dynasty Warriors 5 for the ability to smack hordes of people senseless with a flute. It was the first DW game I ever played and to this day remains my favourite =) But then, once you've played one DW game, you've essentially played them all.

No Bladestorm on the list? I'm disappointed!

...It's not exactly a GOOD game, per se, but at least they tried something different...

Me and my friends spent hours playing Samurai Warriors 2. I always played as that fat guy with the cannon on his back. Good times...

DW3, I'd love to say Kessen 3, but I never did buy it in the end, which was annoying as I loved the series.

romance of the three kingdoms (the first) on NES. (i still play it almost daily, emulated on palm TX)

2 put too much emphasis on collecting advisors. the castle siege map annoyed me in 4.

i didn't play 5-10 because they were only in english on consoles i didn't have. 11 is interesting, but they didn't release the power up kit for the english release, which was disappointing. (the PUK makes the mid to late game in 11 somewhat more fun to play).

i played one of koei's "fighting" games for about ten minutes on a psp last year. dont remember which one it was but i asked my friend to put dungeons & dragons tactics back into the thing instead.

Why have you got 3 Dynasty Warriors games on the list but no Bladestorm?

It's like having a favourite ice cream flavour poll with vanilla, creamy vanilla and fat-free vanilla, but no chocolate.

From that list I'd say Warriors Orochi 2, just because it has all the characters in it (although I did prefer the story in Warriors Orochi).

But overall, Bladestorm is my favourite Koei game. I've put well over 120 hours into it (with just one character) and I still haven't finished the game or got bored of playing it, levelling up every skill book, acquiring the secret weapons etc.

No Bladestorm? I loved that game. Granted a lot of folks didn't but I really enjoyed it.

I'll probably play it again this afternoon.

I would have to say either DW4 or DW5 empires.

DW because I can create my own characters andplay co-op with a friend.
and DW5 because I can make my own empire out of china, choosing all my officers, plus I can also make my own character and play with friends.

I had a feeling that this topic would end up with something like those options... and to that I lol'd.

You played one, you've played them all. :D

That just made me read your whole post in the voice of a ditsy 16 year old American girl.

I really liked Dynasty Warriors 3 when I first played it way back on the PS2. Mind numbingly simple but there was something satisfying about beating the hell out of a thousand Chinamen.

the fact that i'm the only one who's mentioned koei's core, "historical simulations" games in this thread is mildly alarming to me.

its kinda like hearing people talk about buster poindexter and being the only one to mention the new york dolls.

are all these romance of the three kingdoms spin-offs that popular? cuz i never had a clue. so weird.

Well I loved DW3 and SW2 on the PS2, played it hours over hours in co-op... DW6 isn't that bad too. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI also is a great game, but it's a shame that PUK wasn't released in english.
