Lost Boys and Daybreakers were both really good, why aren't they in the pull but Twilight is?

Why did you include Twilight

Because I hate how people make idiotic remarks like "Twilight vampires aren't REAL vampires!" They're just as much vampires as any other fictional bloodsuckers. The only thing I actually like about the Twilight Saga is that it used the vampire mythos in a new and creative way to introduce it to a new audience. I'd prefer MORE experimentation in established genres, not less.

Twilight is bad because its poorly written, poorly acted, and manipulative. It is not bad because it doesn't have 'real vampires'.

Right. It's a very poorly written series, and you requested opinions on GOOD vampire movies.

I couldn't include all the options (obviously I like a lot of vampire movies). I would think the option to hunt me down and cause me bodily harm for including Twilight would clue people in on the joke. Guess not?

Interview with the Vampire is the best IMO. From Dusk til Dawn is nearly as bad as Twilight.

I didn't include Van Helsing because Van Helsing is fucking terrible (in a hilarious, career killing, B-Movie kind of way).

Again, only 8 options. Having two options for the lulz was necessary.

I thought Van Helsing was ok, definitely not the best vampire movie ever, but at the same time it seemed to get the classic "vampire" characteristics a bit better then other movies such as Underworld or Blade.

By the way, my vote goes for The Lost Boys, if you couldn't tell. From your poll though, I guess I'd go with From Dusk to Dawn. A really good vampire film itself... I just love The Lost Boys.

Van Helsing with hugh jackman was pretty kickass. every single part of that movie reminded me of Iced Earth's album "The Horror Show"
(no, seriously, go listen to the songs, and then watch the movie again and look for parts where that song could be played, i tried it, it's MAJOR BADASS!!!)

Anyway, ever see that movie Dracula 2000? yep, no glitter skin, no emo shit, no gay music. just straight up blood sucking, wood stake popping, slayer and disturbed and powerman5000 and all this other metal blasting vampire action/suspense. it's good. and again, soundtrack is great....because f**king slayer is in it.....and the chicks are hot

Do you mean Daybreakers? thats the only vampire film i can think of that i have seen Willem Dafoe in.

Let the Right One In and Daybreakers. Can't believe you didnt put those up there! Both are fantastic movies alone but in terms of Vampire stuff they're the cream of the crop. Shadow of the Vampire would be close third I think, and the first Blade, while not the best, is pretty damn badass.

EDIT: Oh, and Lost Boys is fourth, it holds a special place in my heart

My absolute favourite is The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_the_7_Golden_Vampires].

It was a co production between Hammer Horror and the Shaw Brothers, and is a classic East meets West combination of Kung Fu, Vampires, Peter Cushing & Zombies.

Basically Dracula is resurrected by a Chinese Monk and travels to China to resurrect a Vampire cult. Luckily Van Helsing is there at the time, giving talks about Vampires and Dracula at a Chinese university, so he teams up with 7 Kung-Fu masters to defeat the evil hordes of Dracula, the 7 Golden Vampires and their Zombie thralls.

I have big problem with nostalgia, and both of those movies are too 'new' for me to call them 'the best'.

Also I'm going to have to go check out Daybreakers now. Some pretty hefty recommendations in this thread.
