Ocarina of Time. While I do love Wind Waker, I was more immerse with Ocarina than Wind Waker despite the graphic differences (I never played it on the N64). I think the whole sailing in Wind Waker didn't help me for liking Ocarine more for the fun horse riding.

Link to the past has always been MY Zelda game. The intro is probobly one of the best and most memorable intros (Waking up at night in the middle of a storm only to sneak into a castle, find your dead dad, and go kick some ass)

Now... objectively, I want to say Ocarina of Time. It was a solid game all-around and a real step forward for the series.

However, personally, the Oracle of Ages/Seasons duo has been the game(s) I return to most often. I enjoy the classic 2D Zelda gameplay more than the 3D stuff, and I believe Ages/Seasons was the series at its finest, even if it wasn't a groundbreaking step forward for the series as a whole.

Should of split the games up more, Awakening is my favourite followed by Wind Waker but the Oracle ones were grouped in for no reason, I do love them a lot but they can't touch Awakening.

I'm probably going to go with Ocarina of Time, I'm tempted to say Wind Waker but the only let down for me was I really disliked the NPCs, they didn't seem as imaginative as anything in Ocarina of Time, like when you first see the Zoras in OoT it felt like it's own little world, the same with the Gorons and Hyrule and Kokiri forest, but I never got that from Wind Waker.

Also the soundtrack was way better in Oot.

For me it has to be Majora's mask it was just so addicting the ending was great and it was dark ocarina comes in as a close 2nd it brings back so much memories beating it for the first time this makes me want to dig up my N64 and replay both games

It goes...
Twilight Princess
Ocarina of Time
Wind Waker
Majora's Mask (used to be #3 but I'm replaying Wind Waker now and I just like it better. Majora's Mask has the worst bosses in the 3D Zeldas and the worst temples in the series. But the side quest stuff is ludicrously good. I guess Majora's Mask is a great game, but a bad Zelda game).

Yeah, I like the series a lot better in 3D. The 2D ones are fantastic too, though.

Twilight Princess wins on the strength of its bosses and temples. The sword play is more fun than ever (I actually love the motion control attacks). And it has the double clawshot, the best idea ever. Another think I love: There are tons of fun Iron Knuckle fights in the game.

I can't choose just one... Link to the Past was my 1st Zelda game and I loved it, Ocarina of Time was the 1st one that I beat 100% (multiple times), Majora's Mask was creepy as hell, Wind Waker had my favorite art style, and Minish Cap was just really fun.

In order of favorites:
-Wind Waker
-Ocarina of Time
-Link to the Past
-Minish Cap
-Majora's Mask

Majora's Mask. Why does have to be lumped with the inferior, but still good, OoT?

Best world, dungeons, bosses. My only complaint is the light puzzles in the last dungeon. If it only took 2 less seconds for the light to charge, or for the light to last 2 more seconds, the game would truly be perfect in every way.

Majora's Mask

Absoloutely brilliant game. The mechanics were some of the best out there and felt like a cool alternate stroy to the typical Zelda games.
Gotta agree with this wholeheartedly. It was an extremely clever example of good game design on the technical side, but more importantly it had a dark and subtle story that (in my opinion) was more more touching and delivered more impact than Ocarina of Time's relatively generic story. (Note: I said 'relatively')

Ocarina of Time was lovely too, but Majora's Mask has a special place in my heart.

Thank you so much for acknowledging Ocarina and Majora as two halves of one whole. I wanted to vote for both and so I did.

My favorite half, though, is Majora's Mask.

That's a little silly, putting Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time together >_>

My favorite is Majora's Mask; what's so special about Ocarina of Time? OoT follows the formula of Zelda games pretty well.

But MM...mmm. I think it's the only game in the bloody series where you're not fighting Ganon and/or freeing Zelda. You fight Majora, there's a distinct three day time limit, and overall it just felt darker.

The temples had some excellent creativity to them, too. Even the water temple was pretty intuitive, even if it was the most loathed. Every temple required a certain amount of finesse to get done. And the side quests. MM was chock full of them, some fairly indepth. I can't think of a better side quest than the Anju/Kafei story arc, which was pretty much the darkest story I've encountered in a Zelda game xD

It just felt a bit more mature, and the problems people were facing didn't seem so indirect.

That being said, Wind Waker is a close second. If Nintendo fused a Wind Waker style world with the darker story of Majora's Mask, I think it'd be the best damn game ever. Ever.

Majora by a longshot. It takes the elements of Ocarina of Time and makes them a billion times more interesting with the time-travel mechanic.

That's not to say that the others aren't as great.

Massively tough call, love all of them for their own little reasons. Wind Waker takes it just for the scope, art style and music, and for once tring to make ganondorf human. But obviously Ocarina and Majora have huge nostalgia and are epic gaming at its finest. Also the cube version of Twilight I thought was outstanding with some great temples and bosses. Also special mention to the Oracle series for the being the first 2 I completed and Links awakening for being the first one I ever played. phew.

Now, I love all the Zeldas on this list, but my vote has to be OoT and Majora's Mask. Windwaker loses a lot of points in my book for sending you on that fetch quest near the end of the game. And I felt that TP didn't do anything really new, just added fancy graphics (would have been better if there hadn't been Okami a few month earlier).
