As a frequent player of the xbox 360 demo of BC2 (I missed out on the pc beta) I think it will probably be one of the best multiplayer games of the past few years since BF2142, but there seems to be very little hype for it.
Do you think it needs more hype? I am currently undecided as more hype would mean more of my friends would probably get it and the servers will be much more populated but it may also mean it would be inhabited by the trend following douche's that inhabit MW2 now (not all players are douche's on that game, just most that I play against)

Nothing ever needs more hype.
If anything, games need less hype.

Nope, because I feel that it has plenty of hype already, and any more would probably be overhyping it and raising peoples expectations too high.

Honestly, this game was overhyped the second PC gamers started boycotting MW2 for it. If it is anything less than spectacular it will be remembered as a failure by history.

The fact that EA is bragging that the demo has been downloaded 3.5 million times isn't helping. I played that demo, and I'm sure as hell not buying the full version.

No.

Over-Hype the game, you raise the standards, and once you recieve the game, you find it's lower than your standards, you are disappointed. BAM!

MOAR HYPE! MOAR MONEYZ!

*ahem*

I think it's up for EA to decide, and to be frank, it hasn't got that much hype anyway... compared to Heavy Rain, Dante's Inferno and the oft rumored Call of Duty: Vietnam.

Battlefield people will buy it and I would rather keep the hype low. If theres less hype tthere is less 10 year old kids killing me and telling me I'm a noob and just got pwned in high pitched voices.

To paraphrase a famous saying: 'Twice the hype double the fall.'

The larger the hype the quicker it dies down on release day. And besides I already know the Battlefield games are a master stroke, I still play BF2.

nothing ever needs a hype. if the blistering fools that make up most of the populace all buy a copy I will have to mute the fuckers again.
