TL;DR: Polls that clearly only allow for one side to be right should not happen.

Okay so as I was scanning the Escapist forums I noticed that a lot of the polls recently (and not so recently) have been very biased. Now, what do I mean by that? Here's an example:

UNBIASED POLL
Poll: Dirty Magazines
Do you think it's okay to read dirty magazines?
o Yes
o No
o To each his own, I don't care.
o Other

BIASED POLL
Poll: Abortion, okay or not?
Do you think abortion should be legal?
o Yes, because I'm a Satanist and love Communism
o No, because I'm a Christian terrorist
o I have no opinion because daddy beats me if I speak out against him

Now, obviously, the second poll is pretty hyperbolic; but, there was one poll that threw me off today. That would be in a thread called Poll: What does the Escapist smoke? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.262395-Poll-What-does-the-Escapist-smoke]. The poll goes like this:

Poll: What does the Escapist smoke?
What do you smoke?
o Weed
o Regulars
o Menthol
o Lights
o Other
o EW SMOKING IS BAD IM PICKING THIS OPTION SO I DONT HAVE TO POST
o I thought of something sexual when I read the poll...

Take a look at option #6. Clearly, there is no wiggle room in this poll, since there is one option for those who disagree, which is simply there to make fun of them. That totally defeats the purpose of a poll... If you're surveying a group of people and asking them what their opinions are, and then telling anybody who disagrees to kindly fellate themselves, the only point in bringing up the subject was to surround yourself with only people who agree with you.

What are the Escapists' thoughts on this? Am I the only one who's bothered by this? Let me know your thoughts.

Ofcourse they do drive me mad! When making a biased poll, the poster is trying to affect the final voting score, therefore making it and the whole poll USELESS. If people just want to be agreed with then find some weak minded friends to jedi-mindtrick on.

It's just laziness and attempts to force your viewpoint onto others. It annoys me, but that just means I'll be more annoyed when I post my explanation.

Yeah, exactly. It's like they don't really want to accept the ratio with which people disagree with them.

Now, you could make a poll called "If you smoke something, what is it?" and properly have no "I don't smoke" option, but if the question is "What do you smoke?" then "Nothing" should be an option, as I am being asked what I smoke and the answer is nothing.
