Poll: Black Ops preorder disappointment?

Hey all!

Just wanted to take a little poll, and see if anyone's had their release date delivery missed?

I preordered it with a reputable online retailer, only to not have it show up, and for the price to drop £3 since it was delivered. I'm clearly not the only one either, since the game's reviews are taking a battering from frustrated people whose delivery didn't come through, some who claim to have ordered it as early as August.

The poll is fairly straightforward, but to go further- do you trust online stores to deliver on time?

Is going instore worth the potential disappointment/higher price?

I know I won't be preordering online again!

(Oh, and I know it's 'only a day', but when it's this anticipated and we're paying full price, I feel entitled!)

I know what you mean, I have 2,000 words due in a few days and a plan to write for a 10,000 worder. But by hell, I wanted to at least hold the game!

Still, probably better for us both we don't have it eh?

Gneh. I preordered it from Amazon on Sunday (I didn't really expect to get it on release day anyway) but I have to wait until Thursday. I'm pretty sure this is because for some dumbass reason Royal Mail classes where I live as "Highlands and Islands" regardless of it neither being in the highlands nor being an island. Still, it shouldn't take four days to get a game to me if I've preordered it.

EDIT: Also surprised at how dumb I was trusting Amazon again. I ordered Red Dead Redemption from them on a next day delivery and it took 3/4 days (I can't remember the exact number).

Should have preordered it more than 1 day in advance. The reason for a preorder is so that the retailer knows how many copies to order, so that the publisher knows how many copies to print for presale, and if you preorder on the last day before the game comes out, they've already printed all of the preorder copies, and shipped them to the various retailers that ordered them, so of course you're going to end up waiting until your copy is shipped before you get it.

That's kind of why I said I didn't expect to get it on release day. I still think four days is unreasonable when I could easily have just bought it from a shop if I'd not blown the money I'd put aside for it on the online order.
