Hey all we all know that booth babes are there to dress up and attract the male brain into buying said product, but the number of girls gaming is definately on the rise.

How long do you think it will be before it is mainstream for men to be at these booths doing the same for girl gamers.

What about gay gamers as well, coupled with girls there's a whole exploitable market out there, yet games are likely to remain the domain of largely men so it could take a while.

I would totally be a booth hunk! (looks in mirror and realizes he just doesn't have what it takes).
Aww....
But I think in the next few years, as the gaming audience widens, we'll get more and more female (and gay friendly?) things in our gaming culture.

Unfortunately I don't see this happening until we have a more broadly accepted female heterosexual / male homosexual presence in games themselves. This means the equivalent of Lara Croft on a guy, skimpy outfit et all. And that won't happen in a hurry because it's liable to get shot down by the wide variety of misogynistic dicks who are so much louder than the likeable male gamers.

The funny thing is that it'll be considered a position of great pride to be a booth hunk whereas booth babes are often called 'whores' or similar.

Maybe gamers will have changed because there will be more girl gamers. They might be civil :p

Oh there are a fair few civil male gamers, it's just that they're outscreamed by the obnoxious ones.

LOL- I would love to see that, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

Do you think that they would receive the same attention/harassment as the girls?

Why must you put such images in my head, Labyrinth, WHY!?

Anyway, I can definitely see it happening in the future. Like the OP said, Female gamers are definitely increasing.

Never gonna happen.

Women aren't into beefcakes trying to sell them products.

They should get Oprah as a booth-.....whatever. Then women will come flocking.

Booth hunks will exist when I turn into a monkey... That is never! There are too many homophobic, misogynistic assholes in the gaming community for that to happen.

It's sad but true.

Well it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Sex sells (Sea shells by the sea shore) after all, the same principal applies to women, though it's debatable weather it's to a greater or lesser degree.

But bearing 'sex sells' in mind it's easy to imagine one of the big names (You know who you are) trying to sell a game where you play as a young women, and she does young womanly things like going to male strip bars (I know, I know...), at a female gaming convention hiring real male strippers to stand out side their booth and attract women to it...

Yeah, I know that didn't come across in the manner I wanted it to, but I'm sure you get the point. And the point is, there's somebody out there who'll think this is going to work so it will happen.
