A jolly good romp, I'd say. It happily reminds of my Diablo days, abliet without the guns, the FPS, the scifi and ummm...whatnot.

Absolute win. Forget the (virtually non existant) story, it's just an excuse for a lot of top quality blasting. Even on single player it's a lot of fun, I'm on my second playthrough and still loving it. My complaint about most FPS's is that they are far too short. No complaint about that here. The loot element works nicely too. It's more of an MMO, like Guild Wars, than an RPG.

Great game, but gets old fast. I played the hell out of it for about 2 weeks, but then it felt like I'd done everything and seen everything and it just got stale.

So-so in my opinon. The game was good at first, but as you progressed it got really old and it just wasen't fun anymore.

It's win unless its MP on the compy. Then it fails. Miserably.

I wish there were closed servers hosted by Gearbox or 2K. Now, there's all kind of save editing to get supergunz, and all the P2P hosting issues (which you have to open ports for). :(
Use Gameranger, it eliminates the whole server issue, and makes things soooooo much easier.

I like it. Very satisfying to take down a horde of bandits with just a revolver that shoots explosives.

Killing dudes with weapons that fire explosives, electricity or frikken acid and running over dog things without anyone giving you shit for it.
And driving off a cliff while your friend is in the car, yelling and scolding at you.
And there's thousands of weapons, dude.
It's frikken awesome.

It's pure, violent fun.

Simple, smooth and beautiful.

Feels like playing COD4, Halo and Oblivion all at once.

Fail-Win is far to binary to be a good poll.

Your poll sucks and i refuse to use it until there are better options.

OT: it is both, it fails at being a single player game with story. But it is so far beyond win in the multi-player shoot'em'up area that it more than makes up for it. In other words, i'm happy i shelled out for it.
what he said /\

Oh and also all the in jokes are great, like them obviously being Invader Zim fans, because all the claptraps are total rip offs of gir, or the Rak called Rakanishu (anyone played Diablo2 will get that).

Mind you multiplayer hosting can suck to start with, but once you open the millions of ports all is fine (lucky i aready had most of them open from playing UT3)

Well, being so used to the positve option being on the top, I just voted fail. I ment win: the game's awesome.

Edit: since I've already posted, anyone wanna detail GameRanger to me? I know what hamachi is, and how it works, but I only started hearing about GameRanger after the Borderlands multi-player problems.

It's "Meh".

The basic gameplay is solid, but it lacks any context and comes off as shallow. It can be fun for a while, but nothing new happens and you're doing the exactly same thing at level 1 and level 30. In the exactly same environment. To the exactly same enemies (yes, Psycho midgets are cool the first 10000 times, but then it gets old).

Basically, it's a good game dragged down into mediocrity by lack of effort.

It's bad.

The gameplay is fun for a few hours, but that's seriously the only part of the package that's any good at all, at least on the PC. The menus on the PC version are fucked (left/right facing arrows have identical functions, not opposite ones, scroll wheel only works in some menus, some you have to use arrow keys or P-UP/P-DOWN, and the menus are worse than unoptimized; I think they were actually made to be as laggy as possible... looking at my inventory actually lags more than looking at the horizon, with all the mountains and NPCs and such), it has random lag spikes, they pretty much botched lower-resolution settings (playing on 640x480 like I want to means that instead of an outline on everything to make it look cartoony, I get black pictures with color spots in the middle, basically), and it requires that you install it in an acceptable location to function properly (my setup, I have one HD for operating systems, and another for all my stuff, like music, games, videos, and I installed Borderlands on the other HD, turns out that just won't fly, and I have to install it in the same place as Windows, and I don't have enough room on my Windows partition for a whole modern video game, since all my free space is on my secondary HD, dumbass developers). All after Gearbox said that PC was their primary platform.

And from what I hear, getting it to work online is some sort of shitfest.

Yeah, I'm not buying any more games from these people after this. They said PC would be the best platform (and I'm a PC gamer exclusively), then made the PC version the worst version they released. And it was BAD. Fifty bucks gone, and it's not happening again.
