I'm not gonna join the boycott, as I've grown sick of Capcom's games a long time ago. They've turned to shit, in my opinion.

I see it as a pretty good deal. The DLC characters would be MORE than the $40 on their own, and that's not counting the new stages, spectator mode, ETC.
You go ahead and enjoy the regular MvC3. I'm going to enjoy the upgraded version.

Lowered price, rebalanced game mechanics and existing character roster including new moves for some characters, an exceptional (and exceptionally large) roster increase, altered story modes, improved online play with spectator viewing all released in a single disc update that makes it perfect for dedicated players and tournament play?

It is cheaper for you to buy UMVC than to buy all the 12(?) characters being released. This is a good thing.

I WOULD, but for the price of UMvC3 I would be able to buy 3 characters at DLC price (in Australia...sigh). As much as it annoys me, it's a financial bargain to just buy the new game.
It just makes me feel like I paid $60 to be a beta tester though, which I do not appreciate in the slightest. Frustrating, then, that this is looking like a good deal regardless.

lol me too. One thing i love about this industry is those who wait not even a year can save HUGE money. I never bought the original game and now i get a fuller and more balanced experience for less. I can see where others are coming from but i win.Rack said:

Sorry but Phoenix Wright on his own is a good enough reason for me to buy it on launch. Plus it's a budget price (£25? I think) and has a ton of extra characters.

I intend to buy it but thats because I was expecting this and didnt end up buying MVC3 (but I did borrow it from a friend to see if I liked the new stuff). If you're really against this then thats great, stick to your principles and dont buy the game but I would also send capcom a letter and tell them why you wont be buying their game. That may have more impact then just a lack of sales which they'll probably blame on a combination of used game stores and piracy
