This came up at work today. A co-worker was uncomfortable with a breast feeding mother, but I said: it isn't sexual. There's nothing obscene about it. The kid is hungry, so he's having something to eat.

I pretty much agree with this video. Why the hell should I care? I would of said the same thing as some customers said when asked if it bothered me. "No, this conversation is what is making me uncomfortable. You berating someone for something so minor is making me uncomfortable. I was perfectly capable of ignoring that until you raised your voice to her."

Granted, I would have been pissed just because he was making a spectacle of it tbh. You could have asked her in a whisper explaining the situation you know, nicely, and with proper discretion. Instead this guy makes a total ass of himself. I'm not surprised those around would start to get annoyed.

Still... Since when were boobs the antichrist? "Oh god! A flash of nipple that's immediately covered by a baby's head! I'm scarred for life!"

I mean, what? Seriously, that disgusts you? There's a filter in your brain that isn't functioning properly.

Sick of people saying it's perfectly natural. What the hell is natural anyway? What if I burp or fart in public? They're natural, aren't they. I try not to do it with people around me though because it's fucking annoying.

Same goes with breast feeding. The sound is annoying, I don't want to look at it and they don't want me to either, but it certainly grabs your attention though. If they try to cover it up a little though, I don't mind, cause at least they're being polite.

I really, really don't care, to the point where I'm uncertain why people would make a fuss about it either way.

It's not only natural; it's an absolutely essential part of growth. For it to be shunned by our culture is not indicative of something wrong with breast feeding; it's indicative of something wrong with our culture.

That said, they might try and cover it up a little. Actually posting photos of it on Facebook might be going a little far :p

Try telling that to a baby. They tend not to concern themselves with what's socially acceptable. Of course, if you'd prefer, you can always listen to a shrieking infant instead...

I would rather see a breast feeding mom than hear a hungry, screaming baby.

I have no problem with it.

Nor with exposed breasts in general. They really aren't a big deal, or much of a deal at all.

So long as woman aren't socially allowed to walk around without some sort of a top on I don't think breastfeeding should be allowed due to the necessity of exposing the social unacceptable breast (or at least nipple).

I don't care, really. There are other more annoying activities mothers engage in in public.

But like someone else said: If they're allowed to pull their breats out in public, I wanna flash my ass in public.

Don't believe it. The statement came from me, olowtherJonluw

"Blah blah, why do people make such a fuss over sex and breasts in the media?! Its so redic-
Eww, a woman with a legitimate reason to have her breasts partially exposed? How heinous. Clearly it is an act against society for her to do such a thing.

Now back to pointing out how silly it is for them to have altered that video game cover to show less cleavage."

would you people rather listen to child crying because its hungry or see a women breast feeding? which you can look away from i might add

Most public places have feeding rooms and whatnot for this sort of thing. I just consider it a respectful thing to not whip out your tit in public to provide lunch.

Go somewhere more discreet. It's just the courteous thing to do.

Solution: Carry a blanket. As most women i know who breastfeed DO.

*Add In* Society has banked and is so used to women's breasts being in a sexual or indecent manner that we no longer see the breast as a nursing nessecity(sp). It is more destroying for a child to hear a breast as being obscene or indecent than to actually see one.

Although it's a natural and necessary act, I think mothers should be aware that many people find the situation awkward and make attempts go somewhere private. However, where is she meant to go in order to do this? I would not see a mother forced to feed her baby in the grotty restroom of a restaurant just to spare the delicate sensibilities of others.

I suppose what I'm saying is: it's situational. If it can be avoided, or if there is somewhere suitable that the mother can go then she really should have the decency to do so. It's up to everyone else to practice a little tolerance for the times when that isn't possible, though.

I'm fine with people breastfeeding in public. I'm NOT fine, however with babies in a restaurant, because apparently people don't know how to shut their kid up, and that it's ruining else's meals.

I honestly don't care, I'm above sexualizing the human body when it's not being sexualized, but, then again, I spent four years looking at naked men and women and just seeing them as "forms" which I had to jot down on paper. Once you get used to it, seeing boobs in public just doesn't bother me.

No one cares about it here where I live.

And none stare. Besides, it's not like the flash their boobs when they do it. They usually sit in private while doing so.
