Poll: Button Mashing?

So what do you guys think of button mashin in games. And can you button mash fast enough with your thumb usually or do you have to switch fingers? And is it enjoyable?

I don't really like button mashing, as I prefer games that take more skill. When I do play one that requires button mashing, I'll use my thumb until it gets tired. Then I'll switch to index finger.

When in doubt, button mash. Pure, raw button speed can sometimes save the day. Thumb power all the way for me.

...I try to avoid resorting to it though.

I usually use my thumb, but I have a friend who uses his upper jaw. It works too damn well.
Edit: By button mash, do you mean QTEs, or hitting random buttons?

I use my thumb..and with that thumb, no one, and I mean no one could out-mash me on the button-mashing games in Mario Party.

Well, in games that actually require this - Heavy Rain, i.e. - I use my thumb.
In fighting games, it's my index and middle fingers.

I don't, but for fighting games I don't play the game regularly with just thumbs, I hold the directional buttons regularly and hold the fight buttons like if I was typing, its a bit hard to explain.

In games that require pure speed of input, I've trained myself to use either my thumb or index finger.

You should see how quickly I can fire Ebony and Ivory.

I use my thumb for about 80% percent of button mashing events..when that starts to wear down and break i go for the middle or index finger.

BUT for the altimate speed of mashing you must use your head.
im serious.
its the only way i got that stupid lbp trophy (40 R1 presses in 5 secs)(my head was messed up, worth it)

I realized for extended button mashing (smashing the rock that takes 256 hits in 3D Dot Game Heroes), I actually shake the controller such that it bounces into my thumb. Normal button mashing, I use my thumb. Absurdly fast button mashing for retarded games I have to switch to my index finger.

If by button mashing you mean those QTE-like things where you have to repeatedly press one button as quickly as you can, I use my index finger.

If you mean button mashing as in pressing random buttons and hope something cool happens, I don't do that.
