An opinion can be wrong if the information adquired to have such, is not valid, or insufficient.

We see a lot of that, people who wants to make videogames like the devil, from what they say, it's clear that they don't have a real information of what they are dealing with.

And not necessarily opinions are equal to personal tastes, you don't need to be informed or have a tangible reason to have the former... but then again, that's my opinion... haha.

Are you sure I thought that was the Persians or Mesopotamians. I am quite sure it was some middle eastern civ. I might be wrong but I definitely don't think it was Native Americans.

Anyway an opinion that is a ture opinion ie not based on fact cannot be wrong. You can be of the opinion that Leonardo Davinci's work was shit and that he wasted his life painting when he could of made better use of his talent and that would be fine. Saying something like it is my opinion that 2+2=5 or Chinese people have 4 eyes is not an opinion it is a false statement with my opinion tacked to the front.

If I feel the need to say "that's stupid" in response to your opinion, then it is wrong.

That's my opinion anyway.

You must think of an opinion in the same way as a question. There are no wrong questions for examply, there are just a lot of inquisitive idiots.

An actual opinion, no. A statement of "fact" disguised as an opinion, or that of a die hard, yes.

If you are normal then I would say not to put it less... confusingly.

If its not subjective. It can. "I believe that portsmouth are the best team in the world"
They clearly are not because they have not won more games than all others. Therefore my opinion is wrong. Simple.

An opinion cannot be wrong, but it can be un-informed.
For instance: "In my opinion, the NES is still more powerful than the PS3", would be wrong, because it's un-informed.
If you'll pardon the incredibly light-hearted example.
But end of the day an opinion is never truly wrong. It can be uninformed, ignorant, even stupid... but never wrong.
As the OP said, it's never a fact. It's an opinion. Facts can be wrong, an opinion can't. Nor can it be right and thus be considered an absolute truth.

No. Absolutely not. There are facts, false-facts and opinions. Anyone saying "the moon is made of cheese!" or whatever is simply stating false facts.

The Austin said:
"Mass Effect sucked"
Is this wrong? Yes. Yes it is. Because, despite the fact that I don't like Mass Effect, it is held in general consensus to be a good game, therefore, my statement is false.
That's still an opinion. You don't need to put 'I thought' or 'it's my opinion' or anything if your just saying something is crap. If you say Mass Effect sucks then we should all already know that's your opinion.

An opinion can be wrong for the very reason that not too long ago people had the opinion that the Earth is flat.

Edit: Furthermore, some people are of the opinion that outside of the Earth intelligent life does not exist. If we were to find intelligent life, then that would prove their opinion pretty false.
It's an opinion till you find that intelligent life. What you believe to be intelligent can be of opinion as well, there is a lot of people out there that believe that the human race is a plague.

The Earth is not flat.
If your opinion states that it is, your opinion is wrong.
And you are stupid.

Stupid guy 1 : 'It is my opinion that all black people will are tall and play basket ball really well.'
Sensible guy 2: 'I am a black person who doesnt play basket ball and is only 5 foot 4'
Stupid guy 1: 'Oh my, My opinion has been proven wrong, I am such a stupid guy'

Fill in the above with almost any opinion that is provably wrong and then yes opinions can very easily be wrong, some opinions are personal so they are correct for the person saying them. 'I like ubisoft' is a correct opinion if i do infact like ubisoft. If i dont like ubisoft and say that though then i am indeed wrong.

You may claim that i would be lying rather than be wrong but if i had no intent to decieve upon saying a statement then i am not lying but am wrong. Similar to if someone says 4 + 4 = 9 because they suck at maths, they are wrong and not lying.

In short: Opinions can be wrong.

Nope, opinions can't be wrong. That's because opinions aren't statements like a lot of people seem to believe.
'All dogs love mustard' is a statement. 'It's my opinion that all dogs love mustard' is still a statement except I stuck the words 'It's my opinion that...' in front of them. I know it says this in the OP but a lot of people don't seem to get it so I'm just repeating it here.

"Opinion" is simply a descriptive grouping for a series of statements. The word itself is meaningless. But most people use the word to mean belief. Belief always implies a certain level of disconnect from evidence or factual basis.

So, by common definition, opinion is always wrong.

Opinions can be more refined or experienced than others. So that means some opinions are better than others. For it to be wrong it would have to be an ignorant opinion.

evolution like gravity is a fact, but some people have the opinion that it is wrong, thus their opinion is wrong as it is proven false by facts.

I think morally an opinion can be wrong, such as Genocide..

And intellectually, if you say for example the Earth is flat, even if that is expressed as your opinion, it doesn't mean it is correct.
