Poll: Can you build a PC?

I am actually pleasantly surprised at the large number of people here that can build a PC. I was under the impression that the Escapist community was a bit more....casual. This makes me happy.

It is such a wonderful skill to posses. Useful for earning money on the side (tax free of course) and the occasional box of beer for an issue that was fixed in 5 min with a google search.

Yep, made a mid-range desktop about a year ago. If I were to upgrade it, I'd get a new motherboard (I bought a cheap one with only one socket for the GPU, so I'd replace it if I had the money).

I just learned how to do it last year, when i had to move everything from one computer case to the other. I'm very proud of myself, being 14 and knowing how to install hardware.

I have a lot of computing experience, but I haven't made a computer, mostly because I only have space in my place for a laptop.

Wouldn't be hard though. Doesn't take too much know how.

I am just starting to plan out building my first rig but I am scared as all hell something is going to go wrong.
My brother says he's going to help me with the actual building...
but I am still not sure where I'm going to get quality parts on a budget of 520 dollars.

I've built a couple in the past, but I haven't in a couple years since I've been using a laptop because I gotta travel a lot for various reasons... Sure I can't play some of the more advanced and newer games.. But I can play them anywhere..
