Poll: Can you swim?

Yep took swimming lessons when I was small. I rather enjoy it, well as long as it's a pool. Swimming in the sea where you can't see the bottom just freaks me out. As long as I can see the bottom though I'm all good and actually like diving and swimming around at the bottom more than swimming at the surface.

Voted no, but that's not a big deal, since it meant more time rubbing sunscreen into the supple skin of surfer girls as a teen. Pretty odd that I never picked it up though. Growing up I always figured that fat people floated better than skinny, which made it a factor since I was a twig (I can't say I was a bright child either).

I just knew how to swim, maybe my parents took me when i was little but i can't remember anything past 11. I can swim to quite deep depths and hold my breath for a long time.

Pretty good swimmer as I was on a swim team back in high school and my brother taught me how t swim when I was like seven or eight, nearly drowned me too.

I have swam competitively for as long as I can remember, and "specialize" in the hardest stroke.

I learned to swim shortly after I almost drowned to death at the age of 5. Now I'm good enough at it that with a bit of training I could probably be a lifeguard, at least according to the swim instruction program I was in.

Yeah I can swim, albeit really slow. Guess I was about 7-8 years old when I learned.

When I was 4, we moved to a new house with a pool, so my parents gave me swimming lessons and I'd say I'm fairly proficient at swimming now.

I can, to an extent. Took lessons as a kid. Haven't been swimming in as long as I can remember (thinking at least 15 years) and I was never exactly the strongest swimmer in the world but, having lived in a seaside town at one point, it was sensible to learn at least enough to get myself out of trouble.

And don't worry, usually people die of the impact of the car crash rather than drowning
So I would say, go for it. Learn how to swim and drive. I mean how do you expect to survive the zombie apocalypse, without these essential skills?

I'm not worried, I can actually drive, just not legally. I'm guessing that in the event of the apocalypse(zombie, or anything else)the rules of the road are no longer going to be applicable. In such circumstances, I will also assign myself judge, jury and executioner on any matter I see fit, and become a practicing surgeon.
