Another few years go by, and here we are again. Today we exercise our right to vote and decide on the most crucial issue: will the Conservatives have a majority or a minority government?

Unlike the American system, we have a whole variety or political flavors to choose from. In the spirit of open conversation I encourage all to engage in political ramblings and debates.

I voted NDP because I think they could do the best job as an opposition party. The Liberals did a terrible job of convincing me in either of the debates, French or English.

*sigh* In my opinion they all suck so badly I am going to march into my polling station and spoil my ballot out of spite. I am sick of ass kissing canadian politics and I would like to see a real leader for once, not these pandering fools.

My riding's usually close between Liberal and Conservative. I'm not much of a fan of any of em, but I hate the Conservatives more so I'll go Liberal.

Though I am tempted to spoil my ballot too. Or maybe vote for the Communist party.

all leaders will pander, thats how they get votes.
Yes but the Canadian system is designed around pandering, so we get double the pander for half the price. You need to kiss SO much ass to climb the party ladder that by the time you get to the top you don't even have your own opinions any more, you just spew the party line.

Already voted.

I predict a Conservative in minority. Dion's butt will be kicked out when they do the confidence vote. We're gonna have a new liberal leader. I hope It's Igniatiff.

With him, Pedro's hope will not be in vein.

Note* We already have a thread for this. (If I remember right).

Voted Conservative. I have a feeling it'll be a Conservative minority, but the Liberals and NDP will jump in bed as a coalition in the near-future.

Another possible probability, I'm not sure if it will work though.

I dunno, NDP doesn't seem too fond of the liberals lately, it's the greens who are really kissing up to them.

Well I'm not Canadian and I know almost nothing about the Canadian political system, so I'm going to say the Communists should win. Just to spice things up.

Wait, Canada has a government?!

And it has flavours?!

French?!

This is indeed a strange parallel universe I have stumbled in to.

I like the NDP because they feel right. Plus the fact that all Liberals should be shot. But what do I know, I'm not even from Canada.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Canada, you ought to know our election issues are somewhat different than the Yankees. For example, the driving issue this election is a worldwide shortage of flannel shirts. The NDP, a left-leaning party is also campaigning heavily on totally reconfiguring the maple syrup distribution system, so all 14 people in the country will have equal access to maple syrup, making us a total socialist paradise.

I just came back from voting conservative. The problem with this year's election is that every party is really just awful. I would've vote BQ if I could.

Well awful isn't really the best word. No single party is remarkable and should be the clear winner.

the funny part about canadian politics is this, ppl think governments that lie to get votes (liberals) are good and those that have actually kept their big promises more than once (conservatives) are bad

and before i get anything, look at what Dalton McGuinty did in ontario and the keep your promises law as well as Cretien and his promise to remove or lower the gst

in contrast Mike Harris and his promises and Stephen Harper and his promise to lower the gst, which he lowered twice already

Is this somekind of metaphor? or a joke? either way..it's not a good one.

I'm 17 and can't vote this election, but since my ridin's alway's beteween conservatives and liberals, I would have voted conservative. All the parties stink one way or another but Dion's stink is a litlle more pungent than Harper's at the moment.
