Apparently this is real and it was showed in that "Final hours of Mass Effect 3" thingy. Shortly after ME2 was released, Bioware was working on Mass Effect FPS - Mass Effect: Team Assault.

What do you think? Mass Effect Battlefield? Or more like Unreal Tournament 3 with Mass Effect skins and models? Would you buy something like this? Do you want Bioware to make it? I know I don't. It looks like they were really prepared to milk Mass Effect for all it was worth. I'm glad Bioware canceled the project to be honest.

Take into account that this is pre-alpha footage. The question is would you buy a Mass Effect FPS, not would you buy this pre-alpha version.

I'd play it if it was a single player story-driven game.

If it was a multiplayer-focussed FPS? Nah. Halo already exists.

MAKO

So, probably yes.

I actually loved that thing and it's Halo-esque controls.

Plus, I actually am enjoying the ME3 online more than the campaign, so I'd gladly at least try a Bioware a FPS.

Honestly, not enough to tell if it has the potential to be any good. Probably not because Bioware.

Looked very halo? Halo meets Battlefield/Call of Duty.

So, yes.

I feel like using Biotics on other players would be really annoying for the victim player, but even fucking worse if it was first person. Like, 3rd person tumbling through the air is one thing. But a 1st person view of getting flung through the air like a rag doll would suck.

I reckon that if it were a story based FPS, something like Deus Ex: Human Revolution in space it could be something worth looking at, if it just became a generic COD style game then I wouldn't bother with it.

Well those idiots at Bioware did say how they want CoD audience. So we can pretty much expect them to forget all about RPG's and fuck up their entire legacy with a stupid CoD clone in the very near future.

Ok, I'm torn in two.

Vehicles: OMG OMG OMG OMG! (did I repeat that enough?)
- I'd totally loooove to drive the hammerhead and mako around.

PvP FPS: No thanks.
- As mentioned biotic powers would be brokenly OP against other players, and I hate first person, and the guns look more CoD then mass effect.

Looks like Halo. Doesn't surprise me that EA would want to try and compete with that juggernaut.

No thanks, I'm of the strong opinion that the ME series worked best in the context of a single player trilogy. Don't get me wrong, the ME3 multiplayer is not that bad but I just prefer the story driven single player.

I'm not an expert but from the little I've played of Mass Effect it seems that the shooting sections are basically the same as the average fps anyway (just not in first person, obviously).

Would I play this? Quite possibly. Would I prefer Bioware to make something they were actually good at? Yes.

Nope. I would be more likely to buy a game with a system similar to the multiplayer in place now and with a 4 player co-op story mode as the main focus. You could keep horde mode as an option but also have lots of campaigns to do. It'd basically be Mass Effect L4D.

I heard this is what the multiplayer was originally going to look like
I was under the impression that when they cancelled this the team working on it were transferred over to working on the multiplayer for me3.

Edit: And no I wouldn't play a mass effect fps - if i wanted to play a game which was purely an fps there are plenty i could choose from - no reason to ruin the ME franchise any further than it already has been.
