I have had a cell phone since I was 17. Ten years now. I have had a land line a couple of times over the years, but usually only to get DSL.
I used to carry a cell, PDA, MP3 player, and camera. I dropped the PDA a couple of generations ago, and got a smartphone. The MP3 player will probably stay for some time, but the camera now only leaves with me if I know for sure I am going to want to take some pictures beforehand. I text as well. I actually find it more useful around here as messages can at times be the only way to communicate if you on the fringe of the coverage area - and it seems a lot of my friends live in those areas.
