I've always been into characters, whether it's movies, games, or books. I can excuse a mediocre plot, if there's a bunch of good characters with great dialogue. For example, the instant I met Col. Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds, I knew I was going to like the movie. Even if the plot would've turned out to be crap, I would've enjoyed myself during every minute he was on the screen.
It might be the roleplayer in me, who will always focus on character development in any sort of storytelling medium.
