Curiosity once more compels me to ask of you all.

When a game offers character creation, and customization, how in depth to you go when making your character?

Does the level of possibilities in Character Creation / Customization (Hence known in this thread as CC/C for ease of use) matter to you?

Do you have a preference?

I sometimes get bored with character customisation, depends on weather I can edit the appearance later in the game because I can always just make a basic guy and jump right into the game until I want to change his appearance peoperly.

I enjoy detailed customization, mainly to make the character look as freakish as possible.

I usually create a normal looking guy first time round and then I create something truly stupid
(I got pretty bored playing smackdown vs RAW 2006 and created an army of freaks)

I usually fiddle with the customization briefly if its a single player game, if its something like an MMO I'll make sure to invest the time, because odds are I'll be stuck looking at that character for a long time to come.

I usually do like some customization options, though I love how they did it in Fable.
But usually the developers go in some sort of customization spree, and you get Oblivion. Seriously, there where a dozen sliders which did pretty much the same to me, do we really need a brow-nose-chin, a nose-chin-brow, a chin-brow-nose, a brow-chin-nose, a chin-nose-brow, AND a nose-brow-chin slider?! And then there where all sorts of sliders, for each of these parts specifically. And on top of that, it was all ordered like crap, just a list with some vague descriptions, and a slider. You didn't know what they did unless you used them, and then the face was already messed up.
All in all, keep the customization simple, people...

I made a red-skinned, red-haired Orc in Oblivion. A masterpiece, I think.
And I would think you correct.

When it matters, I like to have a nice-looking character.

I try to work really hard on my CoX characters' looks. Oh, I don't care for appearence, I only work on costumes. To make them look awesome instead of barfing every time I turn around and see my character's front.

I have a lot of fun with the character customisation tools.
Although I only have a few character looks that I always end up going for (most of my characters are tall, skinny and sporting ponytails).

I really want to take a bite out of this guy's avatar, but on topic: If I don't get my character to look exactly right, then I can't continue playing the game.
