While strolling around town yesterday, I noticed there was a large amount of charity workers and this got me to remember past memories of them. The point of this thread is do you have any funny memories about them or when you were working as one. I remember once in town It was raining heavily and me and my sister was trying to meet up with my mom, halfway there we took a shortcut through an arch way, bad idea. Practically most of the charity workers of the town had taken shelter there. Had to push my way through while they kept asking if I had spare time and if I could donate money. :)

Once I was just walking down the road and I walked around some Charity workers. ONce I was past them, one of them turned towards me and called my name. Definitely me. Not someone next to me or anything... I've never seen them before, never had any association with that carity before, nothing...

Weird...

Someone from a charity which appeared to be concerned with polar bears asked me if I could make a donation. I replied by saying she should eat polar bears, and explaining that if humans bred polar bears for meat, they wouldn't be becoming extinct.

She said I was wrong, so I challenged her to explain why. She couldn't.

I felt goooood.

Didn't you know - they have psychic powers...

One of my friends was looking for a job, and signed up to be a charity worker. We were all really proud of how generous he was etc, except when he quit when he realised he wasn't being paid for the work.
Most of them I suppose, no matter what kind of person they are, are working for a good cause, and that's a nice thought really.

Do those weirdos that come to your door at like 8am on a Saturday morning asking if I've accepted Jesus into my life, and THEN ask for money, count?

I don't think it's a particularly good way of getting people to donate money. Yes, it raises awareness, but if they are too pushy then it'll just damage their cause
