I find cheating fine, as long as it isn't my first playthrough of the game. Cheats can add a lot of fun and replay value to a game!

On the other hand, I'd never cheat on my first run of a game (unless it is fundamentally impossible otherwise) because it spoils the challenge and means I don't feel satisfied with or deserving of my progress.
Also, I think cheating online ruins the game for everyone else (unless everyone's cheating, of course!)

Regarding Spore, having that badge is kind of like having "CHEAT" tattooed on your forehead - everyone knows not to be impressed by the rest of your badges.

If its offline cheating, its my game, I payed upwards of fifty dollars for it, and if you don't like my cheating then you can kindly fuck off.

In sandbox games (Prototype/Saints Row 2/Fallout 3/etc) cheating makes things more fun.

I agree with all of this, except for the last bit, which I can't agree with because I haven't played those games.

I'd also like to add that while I don't find cheating wrong, I'd rather not cheat in a game unless I've already completed it once without cheating.

To each his own. They can cheat if they want so long as it is not online and affects me or gets them anything that could be used for gloating, such as achievements.
Umm if there are cheats that don't disable achs then they really devalue said achievements to begin with so no one has anything to gloat about.

This depends on your definition of "cheating".

As far as I'm concerned, it's not *possible* to cheat in a single-player game because the point of playing the game is to have fun. If the game is not fun without employing "cheat" codes, so be it.

The only time "cheating" becomes important is when you're playing a multi-player game and you may be making it impossible for *other* people to enjoy the game by violating the community rules. Then, you're just a dipshit.

Multiplayer games should not have cheats, as everyone should be equal. But in single player games such as Fallout or Prototype, you have nothing to prove to anyone, CHEAT AWAY!

I dislike people who played games with god mode, and yet think they were good at it. If you cheat dont pretend your that good. If theyre fun cheats, cheat away.

Cheating in online games = Bad.
Cheating in an offline game = Do whatever the fuck you want. It's your game. If you reach a frustrating point in a game, and it would be far more fun to skip it, fuck that scene.
If it'll skip an escort mission, I'll use any cheats I need too.
