Yes I cheat and it ruins the game.
Curse you all that put up the cheats on the internet!

Only if I've completed the game and/or find it really boring and want to add some flavour.
I refuse to cheat if a certain part is too hard. That's like letting it win.

I usually cheat when I have grown bored and must raise my godlike prowess to super godhood.
Sometimes it's fun, like chucking 25 satchel charges onto one dude in Saints Row 2, and then detonating... It's like, Christmas....
This, basically. Cheating in GTA is awesome... Plus I have been known to cheat in Age of Empires, although that's mainly because I've beaten it God knows how many times already and I think having a car drive around Ancient Egypt blasting people with a laser is pretty funny...

I don't like to cheat, but I'll do it if the alternative is giving up on the game. But when I say "cheat", I really mean "check a walkthrough".

i cheat for entertainment value, like making a god charactor with uber death spells in oblivion and wiping out skingrad in about 10 sec., or making a guard put armor on that lights him on fire, or puts him to sleep, it never gets old

I generaly dislike cheating because it kills the fun and experience of a game.

But I do cheat when I feel it's necesary, for instance; I completed gta4 for 100% (insane I know) and two weeks later they release a trophy patch. Needless to say I didn't really enjoy that, especially because I'm a real trophy whore.
So that was one of the times where I felt it was necesary to cheat.

It only annots me when its done in multiplayer or to get achievements, like in L4D when people brag that they completed it on expert first time when really they just typed in some flying cheat that takes all of the challenge and hence reward away from the game.

Its mostly hippies that do it to GOD DAMN HIPPIES PISS ME OFF!

I don't consider cheating fun. I play single-player for the most part, so if I were to resort to cheating, it would just mean I couldn't beat the AI. And that's pretty pathetic. I go out of my way to avoid guide books and manuals, too, especially the first run through. If it's the second time I've played, I may check a walkthrough to make sure I've done all possible quests, since I'm one of those freaks angling for 100% completion. But really, where's the fun in cheating?

And I see people here mention in modding, but it doesn't sound like anyone's using the cheat mods to then beat the game...just to rampage for a moment. Is it really cheating then? (I have a console, my poor PC can't handle games, so I'm pretty much out of modding for a while.) It sounds similar to me saving my game in GTA, killing everyone in sight before driving my car off the bride á la "Alias" and reloading to finish the mission. I don't really gain anything from it but a mindless stress release, and it never contributes to the way I finish the game. So...is it cheating?
GTA is just a cheating game i mean i don't know any one that had used a weapon cheat on this game

I cheat only when I've beaten the game, or have encountered a glitch that makes it logically impossible for me to continue. Otherwise, cheating is a no-go for this gamer.

Usually only after I beat a game once or twice. I realized recently that I almost only use cheats when I have friends over too. Like in Saints Row 2 I was explaining the different weapons to my friend who had mad his own character and I just looked up on the net how to spawn them in.

Then I had to switch to mine to Summon Zombie Carlos. When I found that cheat.

I usually only mess with cheats that don't actually make the game easier but rather do something funny, like switch the two fighters heads or make it look like you're holding radios instead of guns.

Only in Rock Band 2. When someone can't play competently, or someone is trying to play expert when they can't, we turn on no fail. Other then that, no. I don't see the appeal, even after beating the game.
