Poll: CHOCOLATE!!

Ok, now that I have your attention, chocolate has been in the news today a lot more than usual:

This is an article about the American confectionary company Kraft buying out Cadbury, a very old and very British company.
A lot of fuss has been kicked up about this but I was wandering what Escapists (British, American or anyone else) thought of the topic.

This is about job cuts that are inevitable with any company take over.

EDIT: This post is mainly about judging how much (if any) REAL fuss their is over this from the British public

There won't be any fuss until they close down and asset strip Bourneville, then start selling American brown shit under the Cadbury name. Just like Nestle did with Rowntree's everything.

Surely its better being taken over by an American company and still continuing to produce the products than it going bust due to lack of funds a in a few years??

Too late, Cadbury's owns (well...owned) Green and Blacks. It belongs to Kraft now (dun dun dun...)

Personaly, I'm not happy about it. Partly because I like Cadbury's chocolate and I distrust this big American company which has a habit of loosing money and dropping products. But also because my Dad works for Cadburys and looks like he will now loose his job.

Well, seeing as it's Kraft, makers of 'processed spreadable cheese food product' of various types, I don't have much hope for the quality of your chocolate remaining the same. Or it may taste similar, but be made of paper bi-product or something. But I guess it's the taste that matters, not the fat-retaining, carcinogenic chemicals.
