As a person who lives with one, I'm curious: if you had to, what chronic disease would you choose to go through life with?

Parkinsons; Why? Beacuse I'm Used To it...

Out of curiosity what is your chronic disease?

Also for anyone wanting an easy answer; Color blind...

I've got one. Yay ME/CFS.
To tell the truth, my case isn't particularily bad. I'm not permanently bed-ridden like most sufferers, but it sure slammed my education and social life into a grinding halt.

Diabetes, 'cause with the right therapy, nowadays my life expectancy wouldn't be lowered at all.

I'm type 1. And if her dad just got diabetes, it's most likely type 2, so while she may get it later in life, right now she's safe(unless she's one of the fat kids on the news...no offense intended). As for type 1, it usually begins before 40. Here's a good site if she keeps worrying: http://www.endocrineweb.com/diabetes/1diabetes.html

How about none.
Well, I suppose if you want to really stretch the definition, then life could be considered a chronic condition on its own... :p

Colour blindness- cause it's the only in the list that can't kill you.

Also, why haven't you put AIDS in the poll?

Color blindness is the easy one... does compulsive bull-shitting count?
Only if politicians find some kind of new way to benefit from it.

Life is the only disease that always kills, sooner or later, can't be protected against and strikes everyone.

I'd pick color blindness, but I guess Allergy counts as a chronic disease. Or high blood pressure. Got 'em both.

I have heart disease so I picked it. Actually doesn't suck as much as you think, except for the random chest pains. Also have a murmur, a hole in my heart, and some weird thing where my body burns through nutrients too fast so I have to eat an exorbitant amount just so my muscles don't go crazy and super tighten to the point my body ruptures.
Yep it's fun being me :D

Why is color blindness on the same list as cancer and AIDS? Color blindness isn't so much a disease as a genetic condition.

I got a request for it to go on, so it did. I know it's not as drastic as the others, but it's still somewhat applicable.
