bah, once you get past the age of 17/18 cliques (I refuse to use the US spelling) seem to disappear. People are just people. Some ya like, some ya don't.

Thats the way it is for me and the people I know at least.

I believe that is just THE spelling.
I'm sorry mate, but I'm afraid I don't understand. D'ya mean that clique is the only correct way of spelling the word?

Call me slow, but its late, and I'm tired :p

*feels like a complete 'tard*

Hybridization ruled my school, I was one of the nerdy metal heads. That's following my personal definition of nerd that states a nerd is someone who has a knowledge of nerdy things (technology and such) and takes enjoyment from learning about and toying with them. Musician should probably be up there, many of my old friends would fit into that with their garage band phase.

When did I suddenly fall into this typical every town TV land highschool?

I was rasied in Miami, so this who classic american Clique thing is a foreign concept to me. Nearly every one here was a first generation american so we never really experinced highschool like we saw on TV.

But if any thing I really didnt fall into any of the stated Clipues. I was a fair good high student. Gifted classes from 1st grade foward an AP class or two in highschool. I did JV (american) football my freshman year, but I really didnt like it all the much so i end up quiting. I basicly had connections with just about every one, but my core group was just an eclectic bunch of people.

I'm would call myself music- and (PC) game lover/nerd. Though I only go deep in the games I like (Half-Life, Fallout & Call of Duty) I always go hard. Then there's the musical part. Well, I play Electrical guitar, Trumpet and Tuba and enjoy most music beside modern-day Gum-pop and RnB.

Then there's also the fact that I'm a walking encyclopedia about 20th centuries military actions.

I'm a mix

I'd say part gangster, but not the "acting hood" type, mostly because I have alot of friends who "like" me but I don't trust

Part Comedian, cause I'm the first to make a situation awkward with a funny sex joke. Especially during class

Athlete cause Im sporty.. Basketball Football and such

and Kinda Nerdy, If you call and Adiction to Mario that

I'd actually say I'm a jock, not the movie type. More of the just friendly with everyone type. I've never found a group I couldn't fit into, When you watch Sportcenter, play video games, and such... The only time is when I box a group out befoe I meet them. Like emos

hehe i think the lad forgot stoner AKA hippy AKA student :p
but yeah, just like a lot of other people have said... these aren't what the terms mean.
... not AT ALL :|
you only have a clique if you put yourself IN that clique, that you've accepted that as your lifestyle. But that really only applies to "gangster" and "emo". Some people are naturally more intelligent, willing to learn, athletic, funny, charismatic or likeable than others... this doesn't mean they're a stereotype.
Example, I'm a hell of a nerd... you have to be to do a Forensic Computing degree. However, Moony and I are practically famous where we are for our ridiculous spending on going out and insanely low spending on things like food, amenities and general crap you NEED. I get on with everyone, since I'm fairly charismatic, and hey, I can get laid, oddly :) I went to a metal festival and have a lot of black in my wardrobe, including a full length metal kilt :D I also use the gym a lot, but I'm FAR from athletic :p More... brickhouse. I enjoy reading if I find a good book... Oh, and I smoke and occasionally steal, just because I can.
So according to you, I'm every single one of the cliques

But if I had to pick it would most likely be geek.
I do more geeky things.
And mario can SO beat master chief...in a plumbing contest.
both have their merits, but then mario CAN go inside pipes... this reminds me of something:

I'm a self-appointed geek. Don't think I need to say much more here.

Also, as many have said before me, it's "clique", not "click".

i suppose i would fit in the athlete click, but i'm not into the usual "school approved" sports like running or football (soccer to the americans among you), i'm into sports such as skating and rock climbing.

Isn't the term stereotyping, not clicking?
No, but they can be similar.

A 'clique' is a social group that exists.

A stereotype is a generalisation made by somebody in order to group things together, for example saying that everyone who wears black is a Goth/Emo.

Somebody can be in a clique without being "stereotyped", but when you get people who assume that anyone who likes rap is a "gangster" and anyone who likes sports is a "jock" then you are getting into stereotypes.

Sadly, few people can tell the difference between cliques and labels and instead proclaim they are unique.

Heres a good question.. can you give me a good example of the difference between a geek and a nerd?
My analogy using TV is that Lisa Simpson is a nerd and the Comic Book Guy is a geek.

Lisa loves science/maths/learning and has little interest in socialising.

Comic Book Guy prefers non-physical forms of entertainment such as D+D, comics and Star Wars/Trek.

That's the simplest way of describing it, although the idea that you can't be sociable as well as having this interests is just childish.

I did this a while ago for a school paper (anyone off-topic viewers remember my survey for my English class on cliques?). It was interesting to see what Escapists thought and get a truly global view on this. I forgot to thank all those who took my survey I do believe. Thank you survey takers, you were a great help in my getting an A and winning an in class debate.
