Yes, this is a Metallica thread. Many of you may not be aware of this little nugget of history, but the night of the Metallica's tragic accident in Sweden, that is Cliff Burton's death, it could have been Kirk Hammett instead who died. You see, that same night, Cliff and Kirk drew cards on who should sleep where, due to uncomfortable beds. Cliff won with a Ace of Spades, and got the bed of his desire. Some hours later while sleeping in his more comfortable cubicle, the bus skidded and that's where it happened. Imagine that, Kirk got lucky by a set of cards.
The question is, if you by some reason, were chosen to give on of these musicians the Ace of Spades, who would it be? Would you keep it the way it was meant to be, or alter it and keep Cliff?
It's hard to choose for me. On one hand, I think Cliff was a master of the bass, and a talented musician who made Metallica great, but Kirk is such a great guitarist, and he inspired many musicians that I today love. But taking that aside, I'd probably choose Cliff. I miss that crazy bastard.
Also, I'm not starting a flame war, I do not want any flaming.
