hi, I did not fully enjoy Cloud Atlas. I don't hink that "BAD" is the right word to describe what I felt. I think the movie was flawed. "it is the Best looking best acted best directed movie that I couldn't understand!"
i believe it is the Producer and director's job to make the movie comprehensible and I went away confused. So Yes, the movie failed me in that respect. So I cannot really say that the acting delivered or the message delivered when it, indeed was such a mess. To those who say they would see it again, I would think they would HAVE to see it again or even a third time to make sense of what it is about. The connection of the various characters was NOT clear to me all the way through the picture. What a shame/ i live and work in Hollywood and my family is in the "biz" so I understand the disparate elements that comprise a good movie. All the factors have to be balanced and in synch for it to work. There is incredible tension built into the business end of getting the movie produced. The strain often ruins the artistic aim. Like a director once told me, "sometimes the creative impulse survives DESPITE the input of all parties imvolved" however, ...not in this case.
