For those who aren't familiar, the game gets saved "off site". So what happens with Assassins Creed, any game on the Windows Live environment, etc. I bring this up because I lost my ME1+2 save recently. Which was kind of shit. Then I realised that there was no backup "in the cloud" for ME. So! Escapists. Do you prefer cloud based saves? Or do you like to have them on hand?

I prefer the cloud. Oh. So. Much. (now)

Definitely not. I trust "the cloud" less than I trust myself. At least if the saves are on my hard drive I know that I can back them up and have indefinite access to them. I can even back them up to an offsite location (a "cloud") of my own choosing, rather than someone else's which I may at some point lose access to.

No, no cloud for me, no sir. Not unless I choose to put it there.

I do like the cloud system. It's nice that I can play my saved games at my Dad's house without having to drag my computer there. Although I have had rare instances where it didn't have my save.

No thanks on the cloud. It might be useful for stuff I don't care too much about and can easily re-acquire, like music libraries or movies, but saved games, college homework, etc can stay on my nicely secure portable hard drive / flash drive.

Besides, it's not a huge deal for most games to just put your saved games on a separate drive and just copy them back into the game directory later on.

I'm fine with the idea of a cloud, so long as I can have a copy on my HD, just in case. I've actually got a couple of save game files in my GMail as a back-up, so that's kind of a pseudo-cloud there.
