My brother has recently taken up gaming, so I've had no choice but to take turns with him on the xbox. I decided that we should just play some split screen games, but I realized that all my favorite games don't have that feature.
So, answer the poll and give the name of your favorite title that supports split-screen (I'd prefer xbox titles, but I'm still curious to know what game you like regardless of platform).
EDIT: Games we have played and gotten sick of are as follows: MW2 spec ops, L4D2 (I love it, he hates it), and Halo 3.
Games coming out soon are also accepted.

Modern Warfare 2 spec ops is a hell of a lot of fun if played seriously. It also has splitscreen deathmatch. The Halo games have coop and adversarial splitscreen as well.

4 player splitscreen in COD 4 were good weekends spent. Plus I have a younger brother that games aswell.

It makes me mad that games have been taking away co-op split screen.

Modern Warfare 2 has spec-ops mode. 1v1 MP sucks though.
The Halo series is great for this, as every game has split screen story.
Forza 3 for racing. Or Burnout 3.
Madden 10.

Timesplitters was fantastic split-screen...nowadays, I'd have to say its between MW2 or L4D2.

Split-screen is great if you have multiple gamers in the same house, or if you're having friends over but don't have multiple consoles/TVs.

Speaking of split-screen... Whatever happened to hotseat mode?

Oh right, noone cares about turn-based games. :(

Borderlands, most racing games, any CoD game, any Halo game, any Gears game. T hey're some others, but I don't remember any really good one right now.

I really don't get why games seem to be lacking this of late. Basically, me and my friends are now limited to Rock Band 2, MW2 Spec Ops and NHL 10 for group experiences.

It's obvious that the removal of this feature is upsetting people, so I don't get why we're seeing less and less of it.

I declare dumbnessosity.

Left 4 Dead 2!!
I was in the same position as you a few weeks back, got Left 4 Dead 2. Freaking Awesome!

It's even better if your brother is a sore loser because the game is co-op so your working together. Get this game you won't be sorry.

Anyway, yeah it kinda sucks that there is no more split screen L4D2 only as 2 player split screen and all the non FPS's I have don't have split screen at all.

No, co op is just an excuse for developers to ignore the plot, Halo is a good example.
What? It's just as easy to include the same story from the single-player campaign in the co-op one.

In this regard, games have been sort of devolving the last couple generations. It used to be that a game NEEDED a co-op option for the campaign or it wasn't worth a damn. Now it's all about online play, which isn't nearly as fun as playing with 1-3 friends in the same room.
Indeed.
playing with friends IRL>>>friends over internet.

Gears 1 and 2 have it, so how come your fav games don't? :p
There's a bunch of shooters, genre that most suites it...

My brother is three years older than me and got his first NES when he was three, so we have been playing split-screen co-op games for as long as I can remember, and so that is something we both look for in Multiplayer games today and can be a huge selling point for us with games like Left 4 Dead or Borderlands, if either of those had not had split screen multiplayer, i dont think we would have cared as much about either

Having a friend play through a campaign while they're close enough to get smacked makes for a good experience
