I like Colbert simply because there are people who think he's actually that conservative. It enhances the funny exponentially if you imagine someone nodding and saying "Yeah, that's how it is."

Also, BEARS. That is all.

Both very funny. I watch them almost every day before beddiebyes. I can't choose. Oh and to those on the liberal bias. Yes it's no secret. But if you acutally watched the show you'd see the both tease our current prez as much they did the old one. It's just a little harder because Obama doesn't make as botarded mistakes.

edit: You need to put in 'craig kilborne' or however it was spelled too. He did the daily show for like the first year or two.

Overall though, my all time favorite comedic news show is Real Time With Bill Maher because Maher frequently asks really tough questions and voices opinions that most other pundits don't have the guts to voice, even if you're fairly certain it's what they think. It's nice because you never get bullshit from him, and the panels he holds generally result in really good debates.
This.

I find Stewart more amiable but have a lot of respect for Colbert after he trashed Bush and the Republican party right in front of them. Titanium balls indeed.
Oh yeah! I had forgotten that. I still prefer Stewart, because his jokes are more about the issues and less about his character, but my respect for Colbert just shot back up. That was amazing.

They're both good, it's a matter of preference as to who's 'better'. Colbert is better for pure comedy while Stewart's dry humor is more subtle. At least, that's my opinion.

as much as I hate sitting on the fence on this one (pickets are pointy after all, and when one sits upon a fence, said pickets tend to aim for bits one does not want pointy things aimed at...) but the sort of point-counter point the two gentlemen under discussion provide is a nice way for me to end my day. The fact that neither takes their stated party line too seriously, well, actually, they both take said lines so seriously as to be lampooning the remaining members of said parties, so scratch that... where was I? Ah, whatever, they both provide more laughs than drunken house pets, but if I absolutely must decide, my favorite bit from either was on the Daily Show (w/ John Stewart, just in case we forgot) when then-VP Chaney accidentally shot a friend of his in the face while on a hunting trip... pure comedic brilliance.

I like Stewart because he is a bit more serious. Colbert's humor is intelligent, but it's disguised in constant crazy/silly yelling. Don't get me wrong, I like Colbert; I just like Stewart a bit more.
