No, but only because I believe there are more important charities to give to. The way I see it is that water provision is the most important thing to get sorted first, so I only give to water charities (like Water Aid).

Much of what is given to charities goes toward highly paid charity fatcat bosses, collectors, and "administration costs". In short most charities are a scam. If you really want to help, go there yourself.

Yes, because that's what they need. *More people that need food*.

I prefer to focus on issues in the United States as opposed to other countries as that is where I live and there are a crap load of issues that need to be resolved here first. Some even in my own town. So I occasionally volunteer for Habitat for Humanity or the BSA food drive.

I'm more inclined to support Charities that have either helped my family/friends like cancer research and the heart foundation but i've support comic relief this year by helping in some way

Edit - Is it actually a world wide thing? i just assumed it was a UK based charity

Nope I refuse to give money to any charity, no one deserves it.

If some African child has to walk an hour to get water maybe she should move closer to the water source.

Some homeless junky needs food, tough should have got a job and shouldn't spend all their cash on drugs/drink.

Wikipedia says that none of your money goes toward administration, and they get by on interest and sponsorship. I don't know how true that is obviously, but one could guess relatively.

EDIT:

Hahaha!
"It sure is nice living so close to this water. Too bad I get raped all the time and my parents got murdered..."

"So as you can see from my resume I- Oh my god! I've got bugs in my arms! They're crawling inside me! Oh, and I have a very flexible schedule."

Me and my friends were going to bind ourselves together in twos for the entire day, but we aren't anymore. Something else was planned but I forgot what it was.

I could quote all the tones of statistics it would take to prove you wrong but I don't think I have too. I'd highly recommend changing your post so you don't look so out of touch.

On topic, I hadn't heard of the charity comic relief until now so I'd guess that it isn't working as well as it could work.

No, I give money to charities anyway.

I find it ever so slightly wrong that it takes a nation wide hyper high profile campaign to make people reach into their pockets for good causes.
Preachiness over, it's also impressive how much Comic relief raises every two years and the lengths people go to to promote it/it's current cause.
