Given the brew ha ha that Google has recently kicked up, the odds of the US Congress passing a law against datamining as part of a EULA or ToS have recently gone from 0 to... something.

How do you think this will effect the digital delivery business, Origin and Steam in particular?

EDIT: If you're going to vote, please post your reasoning.

Steam doesnt have it in their EULA/ToS. They give you the option of taking a survey.

And I very much doubt that Origin/Steam will loose a lot of money if a law was passed.

Steam I would agree on, Origin though I'm not sure about the money, though that seemed to be part of the initial thrust of Origin was datamining, supposedly for marketing reasons.

Yeah if they were forced to change it, they would simply do it the same way Steam is doing and I bet that most people would agree to the survey.

I think that the point was that it's very expensive to maintain it when people could simply opt out, which they can't do at the moment.
