I wish I had the chance to get one.

I got mine second hand of the dutch equivalent of Craigs list.
games aren't rare and early models lack a lockout chip (pirating DC games isn't that bad since they are out of print for a long time.)

I would assume it would be ok, seeing as they're basically abandonware.

there are a few new/re-releases here and there (like MVSC 2 on XBL and SA1 on steam)

if you think about picking up a DC I highly recommend replacing the thumb stick.
the default one doesn't have rubber coating so replacing it is pretty much a must.

Even the PC vs console debate is silly. I just had to laugh when all the Skyrim fanboys started crying about the bugs on the PC version... We happen to have all 3 consoles and bought it on the PS3 after we found out that the xbox 360 version was having problems and probably wouldnt have as good as graphics.

Not particularly a fan of Skyrim (I actually don't like most Bethesda games), but too bad you won't get any of these then I guess? xD

I'd think that outweighs some day 1 driver problems or similar.

And those are just examples of what people were able to come up with in the first few weeks alone, the game will probably have "Mod Support" for years to come, it's rather sad that people/fans have to do this stuff/support their favorite games themselves though, since some devs just can't be "bothered" anymore.

That still didnt help them for that one week after the launch when they were about to explode because all of their friends were playing on their consoles and they couldnt. Also 3 posts down from yours someone had some before and after shots of grafics mods...

I am really trying not to be a troll here... but I couldnt tell much of a difference. I dont know why I would bother to D/L a mod for such a minor difference. Anything to fix a vexing bug or add something new that I want, but to make things 5% less fuzzy?

To me, graphics have come such a long way, so I am rather grateful that games aren't as much of an eyesore as they used to be. To me, it shouldn't be so much "OH GOD THE TEXTURES ARENT AS PERFECT AS I WANT". It's become so common to have a precise game with a beautiful art direction, that i focus more on gameplay now

It was always silly even at the beginning.

The problem is people who can only get one console so they become annoyed to see other people having fun that they can't so they turn 'violent'.

At the end of the day it isn't that bad of a 'war' and I'd much prefer fanboys to 'fight' each other over the internet then in real life.

What's scarier is that there are real people on a computer writing this drivel.

i'm sure i won't be able to swing you- in fact i'm not sure i'll be able to swing any hardcore pc gamers but what i will say is that i myself don't care as much about slightly improved graphics and my laziness may be involved too... i do think that its better to use consoles- kind of the thing for not casual but not completely hardcore scene of gaming, also i'm not that interested in mmo's so i never got so involved with using my computer as gaming platform. depends on your background i guess.

It's all just games, guys! Why don't we just have some fun, y'know?

Because video games are serious business. The most important political issue facing our generation.

Not simply fun, you see. This is war. Your taste in video games says everything about you and whether you may be loved or not. Now, pick a side!

They're increasingly redundant now that people are becoming more aware of their needs instead of blind buying. Eventually, the people that start these flame wars will realise that it doesn't matter how much more superior their chosen platform is for their needs, other people prioritise their pros and cons differently. For instance, it may matter to you that the PS3 has better graphics than the xbox, but if someone is buying a console because they want to play games online with their xbox playing friends then they are fully justified for going for that instead.

I should point out that there is a crucial distinction between people who buy things because it's best for them, and people who insist on being pricks about it. Just because someone doesn't buy the same thing as you it doesn't mean they think you're wrong for doing it.
