Poll: Consoles and Extra Features

After recently buying, both a 3ds and an Xbox360 (yes I'm late to it, but twas quite cheep)
I noticed all the extra features added to them, particularly in the case of the 3DS which included

the camera
A music player
Mii and Mii plaza
Augmented reality
activity log etc
and offered more in the shop

So, apparently my game device does more than just play games, but does anyone us these functions regularly, or just to see their novelty value every now and again. Or are they just taking up space on by SD card...

I use shit on my 360 (watch TV shows mostly. I use to go on Facebook when it was self contained, but now it's only accessable through IE which is shit.)

I don't use my DS for anything other than Pokemon if I'm honest.

The majority of those functions are just a waste of space for me. I use my gaming devices to play games and nothing else (except for the PC of course).

I sold my Kinect (it came with the Xbox360), if that gives you any idea to how I consider extra features. Freakin' useless.

The multimedia player was probably the only useful additional feature for the Xbox 360, I use it regularly as a DVD player or to play videos off a portable hard drive. I guess you could say the Xbox online store is useful too but it was a complete pain in the ass to use so I don't count it as useful.

Yeah I have a lot of friends who do that, whats the point of getting a DVD player if you have something that can do it any way...

This^ very this^ that was pretty much all i ever used any of my game boys ds etc. for... fire emblem has been the only exception.

Yes i do use the dvd player feature of my PS2 sometimes to watch movies and tv shows though not very often. Its a good feature to have even though one may not use it regularly. Recently atched 24 season 8 dvd on my PS2 though using the PS2 controller as a remote is clunky.

I occasionally use my PS3 to watch a film via DVD or blu-ray, but other than that, I'd rather have a gaming system dedicated to providing games, rather than a lot of extras that just piss me off.

Other than the Blu Ray player in my PS3 I couldn't care less.
I can't recall the last time I actually used any of the other features.

I use my PS3 for Netflix much more than playing games these days, but that's it. I'm not intrested, and have not explored the other functions it might have.

I play Blu-Ray discs on my PS3, and stream video from my PC. That's it. No Facebook, Twitter, Miiverse, A(dvertisment)pps, Kinect, panoramic video viewing, whatever. Though I just lied, I recently watched a "Nintendo Direct" and that was a great idea. And all they talked about was video games. The 360 OS drives me mad with the way the UI is now, it's made me actively avoid looking into what they're trying to offer me, so that strictly plays games.

I couldn't care less about most of the functions on my 360. I use the LastFM and Absolute Radio apps whenever I have a party to save me from having to play DJ, but other than that I just want my games console to play games.
