For those of you who don't know about R.O.B, he came with the Nintendo Entertainment System and he was a robot. He was a companion that was essential to beating some of the games that came with the NES. In my opinion, a robot that helped you play video games is an awesome idea. Nowadays we spend hundreds of dollars on consoles and we don't get robots. I find that wrong. I think a mechanized buddy who could make wisecracking comments and dispense advice would be an awesome addition to any console. I would spend at least an extra hundred dollars just to get a console that came with a robot buddy. What do you think? Are robots and consoles a good match?
Try to think of a name for your robotic console buddy.

If it came free, awesome!
If not, lame. I wouldn't pay for something to help me do something I can do myself

Well I mean, what are it's benefits? Does it have a male or a female personality? Does it make my bed and brush my teeth aswell as playing games? Is it's name Gregory or Gregoria?

We already have computers and machines doing our work for us, do we really need robots?
We are already having sex with them. Why not play video games with them? Imagine a little buddy who makes sarcastic comments and witty retorts or he could play a second character and speak that character's voice during the game.

In this awesome web comic i read, there is this thing called an Anthro PC. It's effectively a little humanoid robot with real AI that is also a personal computer.

It's like a friend you can surf the web on.

dude the ROB didnt "come with the NES" it was an expensive peripheral that had games made specifically made for it. It didn't help you play anyrhing and ultimately it failed becuase it was a horrifically concieved idea with a nonsense interface. as far as i'm aware there were only 2 games for it and i can't even remember what they were.

Go WIKIPEDIA!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.O.B.

He came with the deluxe set and I feel that with current technology we could get over the hiccups that hindered R.O.B. in the past. I feel that we should have learned from ROB instead of shelving the idea permanently.

If it came with the console free of cost, then yes.

If I had to pay for it, I think I'd pass.
