Now, before I get started I just want to say one thing: I'm not taling about a Text Adventure game. Im talking about games that do what Heavy Rain do i.e allow the player to interact with the enviroment and characters in order to influence the experience of playing the game. That being said, I present you with Control.

Control is what you would get if you combined the fore-mentioned Heavy Rain and Resevoir Dogs with the style of Christopher Nolan. The story of Control is essentially a Caper Story focusing on a team of four professional (but very different) corporate sabateours and hitmen. The four are brought together/recruited by a multinational gaming corporation, who hire the team to locate and eliminate a former employee and retrieve the information he has stolen from a rival corporation.

As the story unfolds, the focus is kept on the four men, codenamed (in true Resevoir Dogs fasion) after the buttons on a Playstation control. We discover their relationships with their work, each other and the world around them. To do so you "quantum leap" between the four and play through the levels using either stealth, shooting, hand-to-hand combat or driving.

The characters themselves however have their own respective strength and weaknesses, thus forcing the player to innovate and find the best way to use the character in the circomstances. For example: How would you use a character best suited to hand-to-hand combat in a stealth orientated mission?

The gameplay is reminiscent of Heavy Rain and thus, your actions determine just how the story unfolds, hopefully creating a new experience everytime you play it.
One of the major focuses of the game would be the setting, Tokyo city.

Ok I really don't know what to write about now. Anyways that's my idea. What do you guys think? Any questions?

Hmm, interesting, seems almost Monoco-ey/Subversion-ey and I'm interested in both those games.

As you said in your post, it sounds like Heavy Rain. As long as it doesn't look like Heavy Rain, I'm all for it.
Well, the story takes place in Tokyo, so the city would be just as important as any of the characters. Bright neon lights, funky building and all the sub-cultures. One mission I have in mind takes place in a Japanese Bath.

I ould also like to bring up the characters.

X: A veteran in the industry and unofficial leader of the group. Just a normal guy who treats his profession as a normal job. Essentially the jack of all trades, balancing stealth, hand-to-hand combat and gunplay. This will be his last job before he retires

O: A conman and stealth and subterfuge speacilist. Weakes in hand-to-hand combat but makes up for it in average gunplay. Plays people like they were a deck of cards and secretly wants to be running the group despite having a playful rivalry with X.

∆: Youngest of the group. Good Gunplay and average Stealth and hand-to-hand combat. Developes a mentor/protege relationship with X.

Square*: A psychopathic loud mouth with a penchant for weraing garish shirts. What he lacks in Stealth he makes up for in brute strength and HTH skills. Enjoys his work and needless violence. Think Lynch meets Mr Blonde.

*couldn't find a square shape.

So you have your own story, but you copy Heavy Rain's gameplay 1:1
- some original gameplay elements would be nice

Not exactly. See, what I'm really after or trying to capture from Heavy Rain, is how you as the character affect the story through interaction with the enviroment and the characters (look at the holdup scene to get what I mean). The sixaxis control would be gone though. Though I can see what you mean.
