I realise there are many Xbox problem threads, but whatever. Anyway, My 360 got the 3 Red Lights again (for the third time) and I am considering buying a Core 360 while i wait for a replacement, as I suspect that they have a lower failure rate. I was wondering if there was any evidence to support this, so...
Has your CORE Xbox 360 gotten the Three Red Lights or a similar problem?

PS:To any Playstation owners on this thread, with all due respect, please don't bother telling me to buy a PS3. I don't want to start a fanboy war.

I bought an Elite and haven't experienced any RRoD problems. The general sentiment seems to be that the Elite have the lowest failure rate. Bit extra on the pocket, but the larger hard drive and reliability seems worth it.

My family and I have lost 3/4 xboxes collectively to the red ring of death. But still, I keep running back, through blind loyalty and spending hundreds of pounds on a large games collection.

I don't buy new ones, i get them repaired for free. Anyway i'd probably end up just breaking it. I don't know how to fix one.

I don't have any of these.

We brought the bastard son of the Core and Premium sets. It had some of the Premium bits, but not all. That's how high the demand was.

The Core versus the Elite has zilch to do with it.

The Elites just happen to be the first ones that came out with the improved design in mass quantities.

Aim for a Falcon or whatever the thing that comes after that is called, if you're actually going to try and buy a replacement. Whether you pay for the bigger hard drive/different paint job is independent of the reliability.

I've never had any problems with my Xbox, and it's a Premium, not a core... Oh well. With the new hardware the new Xboxes are getting, I'm pretty sure the RRODS will disappear. Hopefully.
