Yes, but only if the person was armed IE knife/gun/bat, if not I would most likely Run or fight back but I would never kill an unarmed attacker.

I don't think I would regret it if the other person was attempting to kill me, but then again I still wouldn't really regret it if they weren't attempting to harm me....eh, the oddness of the human brain huh? I honestly don't know. If it were someone close to me on the line, I sure hope I could, but I still don't know if I have that in me. And I also wouldn't want some random guy to die because I couldn't do it. But if it were just me, I REALLY don't know. I'd probably try to disable the guy somehow, fail, and die.

Dude, you are aware that an unarmed attacker is still a huge threat, right? In a sense, they're almost more dangerous than an armed combatant, because they're less predictable. If they're trying to kill you, it might be an idea to kill them first.EightGaugeHippo said:

If it was then all it would take was one madman to casually wander around murdering people and no one would be allowed to stop him, not even the police. Humans all have an innate right to life and that has to extend to the right to defend one's self, even if that ensures their right to take the life of the aggressor. The law has to side with the innocent party who did not initiate or want this attack.
How can any society POSSIBLY function if people cannot protect themselves or their loved ones for fear of the law treating them like a criminal, for having to make a life or death decision, that is no decision at all.

Yes, my instinct to survive has become even stronger now that I have children. I've been in two very horrible incidents, that would have most likely became worse, life threatening, if I hadn't defended myself as I did, one of those people would have been dead if I carried a gun.

In the past I have ran out of my apartment armed with my trusty baseball bat after hearing screaming, also down the apartment staires once after hearing my super shout for help, and once ran out into the street in my pj's with a knife when a domestic fight broke out on the neighbors lawn.

In fact, I frequently imagine the situation where an angry and confused individual (pushed to the end of his or her rope or simply evil and sadistic) assaults me to the point where lethal force is necessary.
